MNS fell somehow at the KBC and took out some furniture. Some people thought he might MIGHT have been siezuring a little, but they weren't sure at all.

As of right now:
MNS has a broken nose, and a chip of off one his vertabrae (but that is very trivial, I guess; he's not gonna be Cripple Boy or anything). Awaiting test results, but nothing seems to be worth worrying about right now.

OMG! Saw the posts on Facebook and came here to get more info. Glad he's OK!! Feel better MNS.

Good morning tLodge. We're getting on the road today, and there's not internet at the house in NC, so I won't be on much (if at all) this week.

Is this house located in the 1980s? Safe travels! And since you won't be on, Happy Thanksgiving! Let us know how Maggie likes turkey.

So, sometime shortly after I posted the above, I lost all connection with tv, phone and internet. I was watching SNL from last night on the TiVo while online and noticed I didn't have any connection. Futzed around with the router, nothing. Unpluggeed the modem from the router and plugged into the laptop, still nothing. Only 2 lights on the modem. Uh oh. Went to the phone, no dial tone. Shut the recording off and went to live TV, blank screen. Crap!!! Called Comcast. They have to send a technician. Coulda actually had someone today but I'm going to the Patriots game today. I scheduled someone from 5-7pm tomorrow. So no phone, internet or TV till then, I have no idea what happened. Grrrrrr.

And in case you were wondering, I'm posting this from my work Blackberry.

I just walked the most dangerous 1.5 blocks ever. I would of felt safer in a mine field.

No warning yesterday, but wake up to every inch of ground covered in a thin invisible layer of ice.

I just walked the most dangerous 1.5 blocks ever. I would of felt safer in a mine field.

No warning yesterday, but wake up to every inch of ground covered in a thin invisible layer of ice.

An inch of ice covering the Twin Cities & drunk cheesewhizers converging on the dome......now there's a recipe for diseaster.

As far as MNS: we took him home (well, back to Yager's, where we are staying) last night. It'll probably be Monday before he hears anything.

We asked him what he remembers about the incident, and he said he remembers starting to fall, then looking up at the ceiling. Us being us, we asked him if he remembered what the Sioux score was because we were gonna tell him they won (unfortunately, he remembered they lost).

He also said that he was getting kind of impatient, since he figured if everything went smoothly enough, he could make last call.

Oh, I did. Flashy Man just left for work, so I woke up when he woke up. We're an hour ahead of you here, too, so it's really not that early.

I also slept a little in the waiting room last night.

(For those who are unfamiliar with the UP, Hancock is about 10 minutes away from Houghton, and Marquette is about 90 minutes away).

OK, so here's what happened. Got up to leave and drank the last sip of my beer. Only number 2 so alcohol wasn't really a factor. Went down the wrong pipe, so I started coughing rapidly and really hard (probably what caused people to think I possibly had a seizure). As I was coughing I got hypoxic, and next thing I know I'm laying on the ground with people telling me not to get up. Unfortunately, I didn't remember the coughing part until after I left the hospital and was able to think without being bombarded with 20 questions...so, I have to get checked out back home to rule out the seizure thing. Biggest thing for me now was how this affects my medical clearance at all.

There was literally one other person at the hospital and they STILL couldn't get me out in time to make last call at the DT...

I think that's quite inconsiderate that they couldn't get you out in time for last call. Glad to hear you're OK.

Ok, so this is some of the worst ice I've ever seen. Went out to meet my mom for sunday breakfast as we normally do. I get about 5' out of the garage in the car and the whole thing starts to turn sideways while the brakes are applied. Mind you, I have a big concrete driveway with nearly no slope and my tires are relatively new. Now, I'm sideways in my driveway in a rear wheel drive car and I can't get any traction. Even simply letting off the brake and allowing the car to coast causes the wheels to spin. Worst driving ever.
