Unless you know something that hasn't been posted, O'Grady is still recovering and will miss the start of the season.

No, I'm just a fool who's mind isn't on hockey enough yet.

There is now a link to the spreadsheet with the picks / scores / standings in the lead-off post.

You may notice that the format has changed a little bit. For those of you scared of change, too bad! :p

I'm sorry, vic, I should have stated this earlier; there is a strict limit of one poster whose name starts with "v" allowed in the contest. Maybe next year!

Oh, I'm getting word that there is no such limit. My apologies. Carry on.

I'm going to take the Travis combo pick.

And all this time I thought I was the token "v".

Trying to make a Travisty of your own contest? ;)

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

This thread deserves a bump back to the first page. You have just about 25 hours to get your picks in before the puck drops tomorrow night.

Go Red!

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Hey burgie, if we have to change our picks because someone's not in the lineup (before puck drop of course) would you prefer we edit the original post, make a new post, or both?

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Unlike REDaero, one of my picks was not in the lineup, but it doesn't matter because the game was an exhibition.

The Engineers were able to put 6 goals up on the board, leading to some high tallies.

Nick Bailen led the way, potting the first Engineer goal of the game and assisting on the game-winning tally, earning 5 PtC points in the process. babo, knsmith, TuteScrooge, and vicb all selected correctly.

Dustin Ekelman (nobody) and Jonathan Laberge (TuteScrooge and vicb) each tallied a goal for the Axemen, earning themselves 2 PtC points.

Results! (and link):

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

First things first, I want to clarify (change) what I meant by the tweaks that I made to the ineligible criteria for this season. As usual, the top-scoring forward and defenseman for each team cannot be chosen. However, in order to actually be deemed ineligible, said player will have had to have scored at least five points this season. I'll make sure that I am explicit with the players that cannot be chosen when we get to that point.

Real hockey starts this weekend, everybody! Sure, there have already been some regular season games played by other teams. And, yes, the women have already played two games, but the men will finally kick off their season!

RPI welcomes the Ferris State Bulldogs, fresh off of a Frozen Four National Championship Game appearance and an 8-2 beating of their Canadian exhibition opponent.

Last season, the Engineers visited Ewlvises (or some other mish-mash of letters) Arena and did not score a goal all weekend. Here's hoping to a more productive offense this weekend in the friendly confines of the HFH.

You will be picking one player-per team-per night with no repeats. So, you should have four selections and you should also specify for which night each player has been selected. Got it? Good.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
Everyone can play!
