Wow. I guess if you were a Habsburg no one dared make fun of your looks.

I-96 westbound, between Walker Ave and Coopersville, I saw a car whip out around me with "JESUS SAVES FROM SIN" on its rear bumper.

I thought about laughing, but I realize these people thrive on mockery and rejection. This poor unfortunate soul will go back to their congregation and gain sympathy for how their car was insulted and how it's never their fault.

MAGA pastor Greg Locke:

Buys a Barbie dream house and brings it on stage with him.
Takes a baseball bat wrapped in pages of the Bible and destroys the dream house on stage.
And then complains Americans are leaving Christianity in droves.

I've been reading the books of Paul. Inevitably, there's always a bit where he says something like "this is only my opinion; could be wrong." There's also a bit where it's "shout out to my boy ____, he's doing awesome work" and a bit where "these people say hi."

Guh.

I understand the intent but from a pragmatic point of view this law is stupid. You have to let people wear their dumb religious clothing. If it makes them the target of abuse, control the abuse. You shouldn't limit the freedom of expression of communities that doesn't harm anyone else. The interest of social homogeneity, insofar as it exists at all, can't be used to squeeze everybody into the same shape. That harms the very people one is ostensibly helping.

Yeah, religious clothing is dumb, and religious clothing from the Big Three Abrahamic religions is misogynistic and gross. But you have to let communities work that out on their own. Let these idiots wear their hoodies, and let the dopey Righties burn Korans in the parking lot. Don't import the idiocy of religious fights into public institutions.

This stuff only exists to split the Left. Remember the bottom line: give people more expression and agency. You can't force people to be free, if they want to express themselves by turning themselves into ads for their own enslavement, so be it.
