Re: Religion: Catholics, Episcopalians, Atheists, All Are Welcome!

Today's Ash Wednesday. Due to work tonight, I'll be missing the imposition of ashes.

Though I like what happened in 2018: Ash Wednesday was on Valentine's Day and Easter was on April Fool's.

Maybe we should just profile clergy?

A former Pennsylvania pastor convicted of assaulting and impregnating a teen girl has been charged for arranging the killings of a judge and pastor while being lodged at SCI Laurel Highlands, according to a criminal complaint.

Authorities say 37-year-old Jacob Malone began sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in 2014 while he was the youth pastor of a church in Chester County, according to NBC affiliate WCAU.

According to WCAU, Malone was arrested after fleeing the country.

He later pleaded guilty to institutional sexual assault and was denied a lighter sentencing after a plea agreement by Chester County Judge Jacqueline Cody, who called the circumstances “way too serious,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to a criminal complaint, Malone was serving his sentence at SCI Laurel Highlands in Somerset County.

State police say they received a report Feb. 18 that Malone was attempting to arrange the murders of Cody and the current pastor of the church where he used to work for their roles in putting him behind bars.

With that haircut shouldn't she be asking to see the virus's manager?

I'm amazed she's not in the House. She's the Platonic Ideal of a Republican woman. Dumb as a rock, Christian fundy, hate-pinched face, edging into a weight problem. Perfecto!

What the **** is an intercessor?

They are people who pray to God to stop hurricanes and volcanoes which God causes in the first place as a test of faith or as punishment.

Which, if I were faithful, would make me really question God's values. "If not enough of you beg me I'll kill these innocent people over here."

Honestly I think part of the explanation of Republicans' sociopathy is how f-cked up their Man in the Sky is. They have all the hallmarks of children of abusive fathers: cowardice, sexual dysfunction, violence, and hitting their own kids.

How can they be moral when their deity is a dipsh-t?

In the wake of that thing everyone is talking about, churches (including where I go) are not holding in person worship or classes. My Pub Theology discussion group was put on hold and out of caution, I don't think I'll be allowed to meet with Jen or Beth for a few weeks..

I understand, but at the same time, the same people who offer "thoughts and prayers" aren't relying on thoughts and prayers. F-ckers.

This whole **** with the coronavirus?

He could have stopped it from happening. He didn't.

That's all that needs to be said.

But if you believe far-righties, the LGBT community is responsible, so He brought COVID-19 as a punishment, the same way He brought HIV/AIDS in the 1980s.

But in following fundies just to see what they say, you can do whatever the hell you want and just say "God wills it." Remember, Ken Ham created his Ark tourist trap because he believes God wanted him to do it.

TBH I haven't heard nearly as much of that crap this time around. I'm not saying they've learned (Narrator: "They had not learned.") but perhaps they are less connected to the levers of media, or there are just fewer of them because they take their medical advice from a 3000-year old book of Jewish folk tales.

However, *** are they thinking? But, unless it involves money (and gobs of it), they don't think.

I was looking forward to being confirmed Easter weekend. That's gone.
