Re: Religion: Catholics, Episcopalians, Atheists, All Are Welcome!

One church puts on a Pub Theology every Wednesday and it's not even theology, it's more of a philosophy club. Kep and Fade would be more than welcome here. Drink, eat fried food and appetizers plus whatever you want from the pub, and have a good discussion for an hour and a half.

That would be awesome.

Pub Theology theology would be awesome too!

Re: Religion: Catholics, Episcopalians, Atheists, All Are Welcome!

A few years ago, our Free Thinkers congregation had a weekly"class" on the philosophy of religion. Basement venue. Maybe 20 people, mostly college educated (one of whom was transitioning M>F, Miss T). The leader was a young organic farmer who had graduated from U of Chicago divinity school. He had a passion for the material and was extremely patient with our crude grasp of the readings. Getting back into that kind of reading and discussion is like getting back into exercise when you have been sedentary for years. The simplest exercises are difficult at first, and although it starts to feel good to go through the steps again with a more mature body, it becomes frustratingly clear that some capacities will remain out of reach without a substantial investment of time.

But it's worth the time and effort, whether it's over beer or coffee. It gets us out into the sunlight for periods of time, even though our senses have been dulled by the darkness of the cave and we stumble around a lot.

And that, my friends, is the first skillful use of irony in the last 50 years. Bravo!

If I admit that it was unwitting, that will explain why and how much I struggle with religious philosophy.

Some things must be passed over in silence.

I have a feeling there are mental issues going on there and something made her snap. That's not normal, even for thumpers.

I kind of like her. That’s like earl weaver reincarnated in a female Jesus freak.

The video keeps getting better. “I NEVER BRUSH MY TEETH MOTHER—-CKER! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT??!”

Re: Religion: Catholics, Episcopalians, Atheists, All Are Welcome!

"You need Jesus, motherf-cker."

I'm sure that's not how you lead people to Christ.

Before I even clicked this, I knew it would be Macomb County or Downriver. That area around Anchor Bay is the kind of jumped-up white trash who thinks they're better than they are because half their net worth is sunk into a 30 year-old cabin cruiser and a few jetskis. It's like Key Largo, but colder.

It gets better. She's been at other stores doing the exact same thing. I laugh, but at the same time, I worry about her and hope she gets the help she needs.

Paula White commanded all satanic pregnancies to miscarry NOW.

There's just a lot to unpack there...
