Quinnipiac Bobcats 2023-24 Regular Season - Embrace the grind

Minnesota and Minnesota St. are very different teams. Looking back at the original bracket post.

The tweet I saw had the Providence region as BC, Q, Minnesota and Minnesota St. I would think the NCAA would move MN in that scenario but fun to speculate at this point.

I've enjoyed watching Duplessis shut some people up -- including myself -- the last couple weeks. Hopefully it continues. Ten-bell save right at the horn last night to clinch the win.

Vinny has been huge! While the offense has taken a step back, he and the D have stepped up. Seems like he's found his comfort zone.

Marinov put on a very good show last night against Dartmouth. Very solid effort by him and he got a lot of offensive support as well. It was nice to see the 3 point efforts from Graf, Quillan and especially Treloar.

I'd like to think the team is coming together which hopefully bodes well for the stretch run.

Although I do not like most of the recent line changes, I agree with the above posts that the goalie position and defense have been much better. I still prefer lines like 28/16/11, 13/10/29, 20/17/27 & 18/14/?, but we have time to see how these develop over the next month. I trust the coaching staff.

Graf hadn't scored in 5 games prior to Saturday. Rand shuffled that line to try and open them up since it's harder to defend 2 lines. It seemed to work and we'll have to wait and see how Rand handles it.

Personally, I loved the Graf-Treloar-Marcellus line this weekend. And Tellier-Quillan-Lipkin were solid as well.

The PP had some success as well so if they can build off the positives then things should work out.

Agreed...the combos on Saturday seemed to have potential. For me as much as I like Treloar, the lines were all doing well when he missed time late fall. That being said it seemed we needed to score 5 goals a game at the time to win since the defense and goalie positions were not that strong. Treloar looks more comfortable to me now and the Graf-Treloar-Marcellus looks like it could be part of lines 1A & 1B. Marcellus seems like he could be a special player for us going forward.

This team is really missing that veteran leadership we had last year. The North Country trip is tough, and our goaltenders aren't covering up the mistakes Yaniv was. Still, that can't be a loss. Just a brutal, brutal performance.

The Jet claims another victim!

I'm amazed teams are still falling for it after we won the national title with it last year. That just feels like bad coaching.

Final week of the regular season. Hope we get a sweep and revenge on St. Lawrence. Looking forward to the game Saturday night. I always like to see the Seniors end the season well.

Well someone lit a fire under the guys last night. Very aggressive hope they can keep it up for the playoff's because if they play like they did against Cornell on Friday night they will be out sooner rather than later.

Overall a great effort last night. This team always seems to respond after a Friday night bad performance...especially at home. Was surprised Kraws was not in goal but he didn't look great against Princeton. Thanks to all the seniors...was a nice post game ceremony. What a resume they have!

First Round ECAC Playoff Schedule is set. All single elimination.

Friday
(9) Princeton at (8) Harvard, 7:00
(10) Yale at (7) St. Lawrence, 7:00

Saturday
(11) Brown at (6) Union, 4:00
(12) RPI at (5) Clarkson, 7:00

We get the lowest remaining seed in the quarterfinals, which means we'll host either Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Brown or RPI.

Also, on a side note, congrats to Dartmouth on securing a first-round bye. What a turnaround for the Big Green. Finished in 12th place last season and picked to finish last again this year. Reid Cashman has to be the unanimous ECAC Coach of the Year for 2023-24.

With Covid, Reid had a tough start. He’ll be contending for a while.
