Quinnipiac Bobcats 2022-23: The Quest Continues...

Spittin Chiclets interview was incredible.

Just so over the moon excited about this. Can't stop thinking about it.

I don't even really care who leaves and who stays right now -- love these players and want them all to stay, but they've accomplished what they came here for.

I think the NIL player was either Smilanic (LOL), 100k for that season or David Hymovitch who flipped from Quinnipiac to Arizona State.

If I am Lipkin, I stay for another year. I get taking the money but the Arizona situation is still weird. Any other franchise and I would have a higher probability that he could leave.

I just saw a post on Twitter from Rand with a picture of the Cipollone's where they have all of the awards the team won this year I recognize them all (National Champ, Cleary cup, Heros hat, and the bell from the Friendship 4) but the one on the far left it says "Collegiate Champions" anyone know what that is? Is that from the regional Championship?

Connecticut Ice, I think.

How great a season was this for Jake Johnson? Transfer to Q. Win the Natty against his home state team. Can't get much better than that. I met his parents at the UND game. Very nice family. Hope Jake does well with Fort Wayne.

Hey! The Komets are my hometown team. Grew up going to their games and dreaming of being the Zamboni driver.

The Komets are a great organization and the atmosphere at games is fantastic. The city gets behind that team when its on. They took the Kelly Cup in 21 and while this hasn't been their strongest showing, they're in the playoffs again. So he'll get some immediate splash time most likely.

They're currently affiliated with the Oilers but it seems they change NHL affiliates every couple of years. They were long independent in the old IHL.

I'm sure he'll get a warm Welcome to The Jungle when he lights it up.

I remember the Komets back when New Haven and Danbury were in the UHL. I had season tickets for the New Haven Knights (Section 14) and Danbury Trashers (Section 102 - yeah, I'm in the Netflix doc!). FW has a terrific hockey history and a great fan base. I always enjoyed talking to their fans when they came out east.

We'll be rooting for Jake in FW. I'm sure you'll see his family at the games too. Great folks!

Heh the U days always felt weird to me having grown up with the old I. Hearing Bob Chase on WOWO talk about 'scores from around the U' instead of 'scores from around the I' never seemed quite right.

But yeah Loads of hockey history in Fort Wayne.
