Quinnipiac Bobcats 2019 ~ 2020 Season

Entire team win! Never saw this coming, especially off the Sacred Heart loss. Now, beating Colgate is a must, and this team should be off to the races. The line changes worked. Where did Jayden Lee come from!!? He was all over the ice, in a good way! Excellent hockey IQ and very good player. Ethan DeJong continues to impress with that big stick and overall good play.

Our Captain, Mr. Jermain - - wow! That first goal was amazing!! This guy is an 'all-guts' first team player! But, the rest of the roster is 100% part of this win. They played a team swarm game, end to end, from the beginning (it took them 5 - 6 minutes to unravel Big Red) to final buzzer.

But the passing tonight was not simply good, it was marvelous, artful! They got the puck out of their zone calmly, intelligently and effectively - - ate pucks, checked everywhere!

Non stop winning hockey tonight....oh, one final note, Keith Petruzzelli was NHL ready tonight! This team humbled me tonight and I was in awe of the greatness shown by this team and their coaching staff - - this stuff, line changing, getting teams to pass elegantly to each other - - this stuff does not happen on its own. Coaches see the problems, then if they can, put a plan in place that matches the players skills . . . then conveys it to them in a digestible manner. This season we are seeing coaching greatness right in front of our eyes...week to week....team loses, then gets better each time! No accident.

The only thing I’ll add, and it speaks to the coaching, the coach’s challenge on the CU nongoal was huge. After that, there was no way KP was letting a late soft goal after that.

That was a beat down! A full 60 minute effort and they were able to beat the stalwart Cornell defense and throttled their offense. Great game by KP. Just an awesome night of hockey.

No let down tomorrow... keep the bus rolling.

Credit to Q, that was the worst we've looked since the NC$$ loss to Lowell 3 years ago. I can only assume Q made us look so bad.

Good luck going forward. Please do that to Colgate and Clarkson as well.

Now pardon me, I have to soak in the tub from the sympathetic beat down I got just watching. In all honesty I think it was worse than the score.

Wow ... I did NOT see that coming. That was incredible. Great, great, great job. Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I especially enjoyed on the stream after the fourth goal, the Quinnipiac fan waving a scarf right in front of the Cornell fans, who ... did not look pleased. It's at about 1:16:50 if you want to have a laugh.

In all seriousness, when our team plays like that we are a pain in the *** to play against. Skill, goaltending, great forechecking ... when we play to Rand's systems, we're really good.

Note: I didn't think the A-word would be bleeped. We are a pain in the posterior to play against. Bleep that, nerds.

And listen, we've been No. 1 before; we know that there's a target on your back every game. Obviously Cornell laid an egg tonight. They'll be fine. But man, this sure does give us a bump to a second half that's already been really good.

These kids are built or maybe being built to play these tough teams. Last night they beat Cornell, at the Big Reds own game. They played physical and controlled the puck. Cornell, I don’t think played “poorly”. They did get limited looks, but they also got some pretty good looks. KP was HUGE and when he gave up a rebound or fell out of position, the D was there to sweep the garbage out of harms way.

There is something about the PUC. Might be the surface, the fans or just the comfort of home but the swagger is different and the play seems cleaner to me in the friendly confines of home.

Don't forget last change. I think that plays a huge roll when Rand gets the matchups he wants.

If you think our home-ice advantage is good at the Bank, you should look back at our all-time numbers at Northford back in the day. I can't find the exact number, but I think it was something like an .850 win%.

Similar to what ASU does in their home barn. Those small, utilitarian rinks completely change the game at times. Then again, there's plenty of other teams that play in tiny rinks and don't have the same success.

They boys cannot have any letdown tonight. Colgate is right there in the standings with us and every league point is valuable from here on out. They need to play with the same intensity as last night, and for a full 60 minutes.

There are few things that I enjoy more in college hockey season than watching a Cornell team and it’s fans slink out of an arena. It is especially sweet at Lynah, which we saw first-hand in our last appearance there. I wish I could’ve been there last night to see it. Good job!! Now, with your job done, y’all can just relax and take it easy. Thanks in advance.

What I saw and heard from the boys, while a let down is always possible....don't see it happening. In fact, they are just starting to "get it." When you see Chorney stepping up and having a solid game and earned minutes....you know EVERYONE is buying in. He's sat for 1.5 years waiting for his chance. Is 2020 the year? Who knows, yet lots to watch and be excited about. Plus add in some of the incoming......should be some good days ahead. Fun to watch/follow.

Colgate jersey. Have foot/leg braces, so walk with cane.
I tend to cheer loudly for ‘Gate (when they give me the opportunity).

he he he... fair ‘nuff.
I believe in the old adage, ‘live by the sword, die by the sword.’
So, the best way to keep me quiet is to score goals against my team.
Last year, overall, I was a pretty quiet Colgate fan. he he he
I just looked... Princeton’s Hobey Baker Memorial Rink was #108 for me lifetime (and I loved it). So, the TD Bank Sports Center tonight will be #109. Last night was game #34 for me for this season, of which one was NHL, two were AHL, and the rest were NCAA D-1 (of which one was women’s and 30 were men’s games).

Truth is our fans are mild compared to others. Be as loud as you want (if given the opportunity).
