Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I love this team.

There is no question at this point: This is the best team in program history. What a pleasure to watch this group. Two goals in seven minutes in the first period against Boston College in the Frozen Four is absolutely ridiculous.

That save by Garteig with three seconds left. Holy freakin' schniekies. What a save. That's world class. As good as it gets.

Had a lot of fun at the viewing party tonight in the arena. Tons of students were there, the school did a really nice job with it. The roar at the final buzzer, even by about 1,000 people, was pretty awesome. Not sure I want to be on campus Saturday night, so I'll probably watch the title game from home.

One shift.

One period.

One. More. Game.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I haven't posted in here in a while, but I feel tonight is as good a night as any!

I am so unbelievably proud of this team. Had to watch tonight's game on my phone as I was hiding it under a table at my company's outing, so I'm unclear on a lot of the specifics, but wowowow am I just overwhelmed with emotions.

So much so, I will be driving through the night after work tomorrow to watch them play in person. Some things had to fall into place for me to pull if off, but they did, and I can't justify to myself the idea of not going to Tampa.

Larson, Thx, BigAl and all my fellow Bobcats down in Florida: I will see you soon! One more win. Let's do this!

I would do the same if it was my MTU Huskies playing for a national championship.

Good luck!

fun atmosphere down here. great arena. I don't know if the video boards would even fit into the bank. impressed by the bobcats winning so many battles against some big kids from BC - play our game on Saturday and bring home some hardware!

Whats up with your fans going all caveman on campus?
https://twitter.com/QUChronicle/status/718232726114078725

Those aren't fans, they're students. Big difference.

When I was at Quinnipiac, the huge desire was to be nationally notable. And what do you see around the country when a team wins? You see people acting like idiots. So a lot of Quinnipiac students think they have to do something like this because that's what they see on TV. It's dumb, and I wish they wouldn't do it, but that's just the way students are.

Also, alcohol.

They did this is 2013 also. There were victory riots after the SCSU win and misery riots after the... umm, ya know.

Tonight was arguably the biggest win in program history. Am I a fan of the harm they are doing to the campus and potentially themselves? No. But I do love the enthusiasm.

As a student, I used to hate bandwagon student fans. I would complain that they only showed up to the big games at the end of the season when the team had reached national prominence. Now, as an alumnus, I welcome them with open arms. I just love seeing people get excited about this school.

To quote a former *top* QU athletics administrator whom I informed in Pittsburgh about the school riots after the SCSU win in 2013, "Let them riot!"

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

If someone doesn't tear down the Arnold Bernhard tower I will be upset. I'm hoping some Villanova fans make the trip to QU to punch out a horse or two. Today couldn't have worked out any better - It was a day filled with beautiful weather, amazing hospitality from the city and a couple of great games. I am at this Frozen Four in a different capacity than last time, but it sure does seem like there are more fans rooting for us this time around. I met fans from around the country who were rooting for the Bobcats today and we met more tonight after the ND win.

One More Win.

To be fair, they ripped a tree down. Let's not act like they were overturning cars and breaking windows, etc. They ripped a tree down and set it on fire. Stupid? Yes. Barbaric? Hardly. QU Public Safety and Hamden PD did a nice job breaking it up, apparently.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

You have to remember that Willy the Kid is from North Dakota. Trees are pretty valuable there. You might want to donate it to him to keep him at peace.

Good Luck to North Dakota and Quinnipiac in the title game. It should be a good one. Two great games last night!

Just purchased my championship tickets for Saturday. More fans need to come down.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I still can't get over that final save by Garteig with four seconds left. Magical. One of the biggest moments in program history. I don't think he's getting nearly enough credit for that save. It was the stuff legends are made of. If they go on to win this thing, that's the moment they're going to replay for decades. That puck was freakin' behind him. He reaches out and deflects it into the corner. What. A. Save.

I know you're just teasing, but the fact is, it was MORONIC. Jeez...first it was overturning cars, then climbing light posts. Now...RIPPING OUT TREES???????? What's next? Demolishing dorms? MORONS...I'm sure that's why your parents paid for you to attend college.

No one overturned cars. It's completely fair game to get on the kids for ripping trees out of the ground, but let's not act as if this is the worst rioting you've ever seen after a sporting event. In the overall scheme of things, it was harmless. Hopefully it stays that way on Saturday.

Maybe hand out riot participation certificates after, just to make them feel better.
