Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11
Can't beat a four point weekend against two decent opponents. This team has shown top four league ability but has been just as erratic and youthful in their losses. Hopefully they can ride this hot streak into Tuesday and take their fourth straight league game. I'd continue with Hartzell. He gave up four but at least two were out of his control and he seems to do something that Clarke does not do and that is stop the near impossible goals. Clarke is solid and doesn't make too many mistakes but he is never extraordinary. Hartz for the past two nights has stood on his head and made some mind boggling saves. He also possesses the rare ability to move the puck up ice and keep the game flowing. Far too often Clarkie covers the puck even when there isn't imminent danger near.
There aren't too many negatives to take from the two wins. I thought for the most part our D was solid with the exception of the usual suspects. Not for nothing but I can't for the life of me understand why Rand continues to play Barron and Hansen in the same D pairing.
We finally showed some life last night offensively and it's a good sign that it's coming from all lines. Arnt nets two, the Jones' and Oakes combine for the finest goal we've seen this year and the Heichman, Yuri, Harvey line played hard and competent all weekend. That line should be a mainstay all year, they seem to play well together and have excellent chemistry.
I saw that Zurvy was given a contact to the head major and a game misconduct after the final whistle last night. I saw many people going at it after the game but I'd be pulling a major homer card if I ignored what Zurvy was doing. There is no reason for it. You take your four points and get to the locker room. I think it may have been a little frustration about his own play manifesting itself in a physical release. He seems to be pressing on the ice and squeezing the stick a little too hard. He has plenty of physical ability and God given talent. The scoring is coming from all over, so there isn't that much pressure for him to score. Take it easy and play your game!
Finally, I liked reading that we are 4-0-2 against Harvard at home. I like that. It takes them down a peg or two.

. 7-4-1 is not a bad start but it needs to continue. Let's go Q!
