Great Game by QU and Bentley and Great Crowd (3000+).

Also Great Call by Bill Schweizer of the OT goal:

I was at the game, unfortunately I do not agree with you, not a great game! Bentley broke out of their zone like it was practice, Bobcats maintained a forecheck 3 times all game. So QU defence had to handle the Bentley forwards at full speed everytime, without the help of any back checking forwards. This forced penalties and took the Bobcats right out of the game. As far as goaltending, I thought Chewy played very well, a little slow in a couple of plays but dont forget he is only 18 and needs a bit of time to step up to the strength of most of the older players.
Over all you can see QU is a much better team then Bentley, just not on this night. You will get that with Freshman, give them some time.

Best of all we are 3-0-0. Great start:)

At this point the only thing the polls are good for is bragging rights (and that's mainly for us fans).
Bragging rights slipped a bit... remained "bubblicious" at INCH and dropped to 20 here at USCHO. Still waiting for USA Today...

Well I personally think that's BS. We didn't play our best game and still came away with a win. Bentley proved both nights that they are better than most people believed. I never agree with a team dropping in a ranking system after a win. (Cough) Alabama taking over Florida's number 1 in CFB. Now with a week's hiatus we'll probably drop out altogether. Whatever, we'll keep flying under the radar.

If you look, Minnesota-Duluth and Colorado College were unranked last week and moved in above us. I take that to mean we really aren't being "punished" as much as they both had big wins and moved up.

And that's a good thing! ;)

The Bentley game was expected after 2 huge wins - We need to get the D playing better - PP needs work - Dumb penalties and Lampe needs to stop the BS he's on the verge of doing very good things and bad penalties like the 10 min. just bring his game down - Lack of discipline - PK played well - But overall a win is a win - 3-0 is a great start most fans probably thought QU would be 1-2

The crowd was very quiet and did the band play anything all night? They just stood there - they need to watch some film and get a grip - That's why it a Pep Band - Get the fans cranked up

To early for rankings - As Al Davis said "Just Win baby"

I guarantee Rand doesn't give a hoot about the rankings - He wants home field for the playoffs

Most definitely!

The band was taking cues from upstairs. They aren't free to do their own thing. Hopefully that will change. Even at Midnight Madness, they only played 3 times which is lame.

We all know it's way too early to worry about, but it's still nice to see.

On that note, we got 15 points in the USA Today poll!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Good Thing the Bobcats won only one game, if they won two this weekend they may have dropped out of the Top 25! :-)

Only 3-0 team in the poll and there are 19 teams ahead of them.

Oh well, that is the fun of polls.

Best poll is the 16 the NCAA Picks in March

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Just wondering what song they picked to come out to?

do we know which song won the midnight madness poll?

bummed i have to wait till nov. 13th for my first game. i can't make the next 2 bec i'll be out of town

I honestly don't remember what they came out to last Saturday... :o I think it was Thunderstruck.

Thunderstruck. Of course it wasn't played after any goal we scored so I don't know what the intent was. Then again, since Midnight Madness is really a basketball tradition, perhaps the roundballers are going to use it.

So I think it's safe to say we NEED hockey! Still bubblicious in the INCH which was to be expected. We head into Moon Township to face the 1-3 Colonials. Losses to Ferris State (2) and Alaska and a win against UAA. I truly believe that Q can come out of the weekend 5-0. Robert Morris has been a fairly competitive foe in the past. But they were last in the CHA preseason poll and haven't really performed spectacularly so far this season. Let's go get em.

For sure... it's only been a tease so far. :(

Hopefully, the boys are better prepared than they were for Bentley. If they look past RMU at all, it could be trouble. While a 5-0 start would be amazing, it's still early and they need to focus on one game at a time.

Remember you have until the puck drops at 7PM on Friday night's Harvard-Dartmouth game to get your picks into my annual ECAC Pick The Standings Contest.
