Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

6 TV games is great for the team and the school. My only beef is that they're all home games and ill be at them anyway. I understand that its up to the school to schedule TV games and QU does that better than most in the league. I'd just like to be able to see a few road games on TV. I remember back a few years when we had a couple televised. Harvard and princeton if I'm not mistaken.
Regardless, good for the school. Maybe this will just force me to go to some of the roadies.

Be sure to smile for the camera! :p

That would be nice. The internet feeds are ok but the quality is usually a little sub-par, plus they tend to not have replay.

Agreed. The exposure for the Q is great.

I wonder if all the air time was bought by QU as in the past couple of seasons? My guess would be the NESN dates were.

Road trip?!? ;)

There was a day when QU would televise all road games cuz they could not broadcast from the NIP. Now that they have the best facility in the northeast, they want to show it off on NESN and CBS C TV.

Did you also see that QU is also broadcasting a QU HD show on NESN called Quinnipiac Bobcats unleashed? Good stuff!

Very few have highlight shows on TV and not sure if any have HD shows.

Note that two of these HD shows will be lead-ins to the Harvard and UMass games!

The schedule is:

Completely agree that it is imperative that the rest of the area gets to see our splendid arena. I'm just sayin from a personal, selfish standpoint, I'd love to see some road games. That's all.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Thx for the note. Not hockey but there are two MBBall games (@ Vermont and @ URI), that are on TV.

Good Luck to the Bobcats at RMU this weekend

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about the upcoming weekend...

I think this is a critical series for the Bobcats. It's a chance to sort out any remaining cobwebs before league play starts next week. RMU can't be taken lightly since they have always played us tough it seems.

A 5-0 start is not impossible, but it's not a given either (and I think it would be awesome for the program). It's going to take two solid efforts against the Colonials.

Go Q!

Less than 24 hours to get your picks into the ECAC Pick The Standings Contest :) . 7 PM Friday Knight is the deadline.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Nice article over at CHN about our goalie situation. If these 3 guys all stay healthy and live up to their hype, things in net look pretty good for the Bobcats!

I think the Bobcats got their stinker game out of the way against Bentley, QU should come out strong tonight. Hartzell gets the start, and I think all the fr.would like to make up for last game.
As for tomorrow I hope they dont take them lightly...Will see

5-0 does sound good to start the season.

Go Bobcats!!!!:D

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Nice offensive disply! Sounds like they skated hard all game long. Hartzell stood tall (all 6'-4" of him) and made some key saves. Great job, Bobcats!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Domination. Keep it up tomorrow boys! Scoring coming from all over and another impressive outing from Hartzell. Gotta love it.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

It's not easy to win a game like that, don't care that RMU isn't very good, that's a very impressive win. Keep it going tomorrow, Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Schweizer and Sweeten kept talking about the level of intensity they played with in the 3rd (Schweizer used the term "flying" more than once). Sweeten said he was impressed with the conditioning the team showed. I guess all the work Coach B (strength & conditioning) has been doing is paying off!

It'll be important for them to stay focused and continue it tonight. It's too easy to want to coast after a blowout like that.

While they only had 1 opportunity last night, we still need to find a power play. That seems to be the only thing lacking so far.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

I just saw the score of the game last night! What a great job of the bobcats staying focused and playing a full 60 minutes of hockey. Good to see Hartzell responded to his shot in net with a shutout. This goaltending situation is going to be very interesting to follow becasue it seems like all three guys can make a claim to the team and coaching staff that "they are the guy." Let's hope whoever gets the nod in net tonight brings the same intensity Hartzell did last night. Keep focused on the game at hand and lets get the sweep!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Another thing coming out of last nights game was the spreading of the points. Atkinson, Holt, Zurvy, JMB and Lamps all collected two points while four others (Yuri, Davies, Dicky and Wong) also made the score sheet.

When in past years a scoresheet would be dominated by Leitch and Marshall, you gotta really be pumped up by the sharing of points.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

I was bored so here's a quick alumni update.

David Marshall remains our only Bobcat in the AHL. After playing two games with Charlotte of the ECHL, accumulating 1 goal, Marshall moved up to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. In 8 games he is yet to reach the scoresheet but it's still pretty awesome that he's up there.

Jamie Bates seems to be having the most successful start to the ECHL season with 3 goals, 2 assists in 6 games for the Stockton Thunder.

With the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL, Dan Henningson has accumulated 1 goal and 3 assists in 8 games so far this season.

Two former Bobcats are trying to make their way with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. Both Reid Cashman, (0 goals, 2 assists in 5 games) & Bryan Leitch (0 goals, 1 assist in 3 games) have struggled for time and points early on.

Matt Sorteberg is listed on the Injured Reserve list for the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL and has yet to see action this year.

It's still mind boggling to me that Ben Nelson decided to hang em up after scoring 25 goals and tallying 23 assists last year for Idaho. Hopefully he is finding his way in the business world.

I couldn't find any word on if any other former Bobcats were getting any play anywhere. There was word that Bruiser Myers signed earlier this year, but it doesnt seem that he stuck anywhere. It seems Bud Fisher's pro days are done as are Dan Travis', Peter Vetri's and Andy Meyer's.

If anyone has any other information, conflicting or not, I'd love to know.
