"The team most definitely cannot get caught up in the hoopla; they need to be focused on the game in front of them."

Probably should direct that towards Rand. Has been a problem the last few years especially.

So much for flying under the radar. Seems whenever QU starts climbing into the pulls or climbing in the polls, they stumble. Hopefully this is the start of a new era with all this young blood (and no Bud Fisher!)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

A great start to the season for the Bobcats! It is nice to see that there two hard fought victories in Columbus jumped them into the USCHO poll. The important thing now is for the team to focus on the games at hand and not get ahead of themselves. They have three winnable games before the ECAC tilt gets underway. Let's hope the team continues to focus on the game at hand and we may be in for a surprising season.

That "focus" is something that I think has been missing the past 2 seasons. Not taking anything away from the last couple of captains, but something's been missing since the Cashman days. Hopefully, JMB has what it takes to keep the guys motivated.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

So from 11th in the conference according to some to 1 of 4 ECACs ranked. Not bad. But let's see this transfer into a conference slate. I'm still super skeptical.

It's still way too early for any of this to mean anything. For one, half the teams in the top 20 haven't even played yet.

I heard Rand on radio tonight and his take was that the media didn't really know the level of talent of our freshmen. Makes sense to me and is further supported by the ECAC coaches placing us higher.

The main thing is for the guys to ignore all of this. Forget the hype and play the game. Don't worry about tomorrow until you're done with today.

One game at a time... that means Bentley, 4:00, Saturday!

Yeah we'll take care of worrying about the polls and such. ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Any reason for the early start on Saturday? Not a TV game right? Wonder if its an experiment to see if students will stay for entire Saturday games instead of leaving early for nights out.

If that's the case it's probably the first time QU has done something with the students in mind. Kudos to them however misguided it was.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

This is parent's weekend. All parents, students, and staff can attend the Bentley game for free. QU probably scheduled the game to start at 4 pm to encourage the parents to experience it with their kids. It should be fun!:)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

went to get six tickets for the Bentley game Saturday (4PM) and was told I could not get six together, as the game was close to a sell-out!

Wow!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

I think I'm targeting the mid November (the 14th) series for my long awaited return to the Bank after almost 2 years. Hopefully I will have something to be excited about!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Shows you how long its been since I've been to QU, but have the new dorms on top of York Hill been open a year or did they just open this semester?

With students within a stones throw of the Bank, you'd think getting good student turnouts won't be as difficult anymore. I know when I was an upperclassman, alot of juniors and seniors didn't go to games simply because it was inconvenient to get up there. (I know, not a great excuse, but that's QU for you) But now with all these upperclassman right there, you gotta think, there will be a pretty good turnout.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Clawing our way to Albany

Are we really happy that we sold enough tickets on Parent's Weekend that we can't get six tickets in a row? My goodness. And with all your posting of Athletic Dept propaganda they should give you a job if they haven't already Fred.

I'm clearly out of the loop here but I just read about the ECAC Championships being relocated to Atlantic City beginning with the 2011 Championships. Any thoughts on this?

It partially opened this semester. A little over 500 up there now.

I'm hopefull, but probably am just being over-optimistic.
