Re: Pyeongchang Spoilers: Tomorrow's Competitions, TODAY!

Women's team gymnastics in 96 comes to mind but that's about it.

Yeah. His was a redemption story though. They had a skip and team who weren’t even wanted by USA curling. Shuster is coming off two Olympics where he was abysmal. He didn’t give up. He came back, lost 30 lbs, fought his way back onto the USA curling team. They had an atrocious first six games going 2-4. A normal team goes 6-3 to make the playoffs. They didn’t give up. They brushed the first off their shoulders and won five in a row to capture gold. Including two wins against Canada, a win against Switzerland who was a medal favorite, a win against Great Britain, and then capping it off against the top ranked team in the world who shellacked them earlier in the Olympics. This time for gold.

This is a better story. This is a win where they had no business even being in the match. The best curling finish for the US ever.

The last time I was at Sticks & Stones he was there. Little did I know...

I think you can take credit for part of the gold then. Your greatness wore off on him.

Sticks and Stones, by the way, is the best name for the hockey and curling bar.

wow

Won 5 in a row, hung 5 in the 8th. 5 rings. 5 gold medals handed out. This is surreal.

Is it ok to be amused that the Canadians seem so happy to be winning the bronze in hockey?

Especially considering how much effort they are taking to be whiners on the ice.

Sunday 11:10 pm is the Siege of Stalingrad, right?

Or better still, the Battle of Tannenberg.

Sota stick co already has some sweet “Miracurl” shirts for sale, along with a gold medal one.
