Re: Pyeongchang Spoilers: Tomorrow's Competitions, TODAY!
The end of Rule 3 is "...and their rule is absolute."
That's actually not true, though. We can and do intervene. We can't change Physics or Biology but we can change our position within the rules. Man can fly. Physics didn't change, we just used it. Same with medicine for Biology. Biology would appear to condemn women to servitude and death. We kicked Biology's as-s. When we are using rather than being used by Physics and Biology then
we are in charge. They are King and Queen but their kingdom is just a chesspiece for us.
Our interventions are getting so effective that Rule 2 is teetering on the edge and will be effectively repealed within the next century. Even though it will still be technically true, the practical effects will be able to be postponed further and further and eventually indefinitely.
We will eventually be strong enough to thus practically qualify nearly all of the rules. A man has limitations. Mankind has none.
Rules 6 and 9 are already for all real purposes dead. Yes, they are "true," but insistence on them under all circumstances is wildly inane and only fan service for sick and uncaring ideologies.
Rule 4 is flat out wrong unless you somehow separate our thoughts from the universe. Our empathy, charity, generosity and mercy are all part of the universe -- they are "natural." The original human idea that they are divine and divinity is outside the universe is a mental illness.
Rules 7 and 10 are also teetering.
Rules 1, 5, and 8 are probably the only rules that deserve to be called "rules." The rest are just target practice for human innovation, and shields for cowards and sociopaths to crouch behind.
Above them all is Rule 0. Where there's life, there's hope.
