Providence College on the road to Tampa

That was a good one....

Now, what do people think about this weekend's games. If Friars can get 3 points out of the weekend sets them up well for the UMASS finish next weekend.

No worse than a split is needed IMHO.

Not sure how they match up against the Irish. Did beat them out there one game last year. Don't think the team will be intimidated by the gold helmet clad Irish. They have a very good goalie that could pose problems. Agree with Leaman on the special teams especially PP, need to get back to the good PP when presented and prefer to stay out of the box on Friar side of things.

No Florentino on D, so one of the 2 Frosh is going to have to play well for them.

In the round robin fourth line, who do we see tonight?

Can the majority of students stick around for all 3 periods tonight and tomorrow and actually cheer?

(and on a political note: will there be protests in the stands like the LAX game had last week? for those that have been following the recent campus issues you know what I am referencing).

Wait, the students are potentially going to be not present at a hockey game for the the whole game and not just the 3rd period. Seriously...

I"m a bit nervous not just because Notre Dame is very good this year. Someone pointed out that the Irish are undefeated at Schneider. Small sample size, but we have our work cut out for us.

THE REVENGE OF POOLEY!?!?!

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Looks like some seats opened up for this weekends games. I have to say the Vividseats "official school reseller" thing has worked out pretty well for me once I got past the sign up part. Fridays have become increasingly hard for me to get to the game in time or find others that could make it and I've managed to sell a few tickets at decent price. Between this and literally giving away my unused tickets before sold out games I feel like I'm doing my best to keep Schneider looking full. This being said, I think FOF plays a roll in the empty feeling but definitely not a major cause. I stay up there during periods (especially the first, when i like to relax and have a beer after an hour and a drive and a week of work) and there's maybe 60 people that actually stay up depending on the game. Closing the bar at intermission like they used to won't do anything because people will just get 2 as the intermission ends.

That is over 2 percent of the crowd sitting in a room and not in their seats.

Down 2-0 after 2

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Biggest concern is Walman, looks like he separated his shoulder on what appeared to be a rather benign check at mid ice. Left the game maybe 3 mins into it. Friars play rest of the way with 5 Dmen. Unless Florentino is OK will see Ruggeiro playing tomorrow and Desharnais who played tonight.

Mingoia with the game winner, made up for his missing a check on his guy that led to second ND score in a 4 on 4 situation.

Always big to get the first game.

Jon, mass exodus by students at end of second period, guessing half of them in attendance left, they missed a great comeback

There was a mass exodus of season ticket holders in my area of the rink with ten minutes left and down 2-0. There was also some season ticket holders that packed up their stuff after PC made it 2-1. If you can't stay to the game is in hand one way or the other, please don't come.

Desharnis (sp) was in over his head it seemed tonight and that is the first time this year that I thought he was a problem. Ruggerio has to be in the lineup now with the Walman injury.

I thought PC played passive for the first ten minutes of the game and need to be better bringing the puck out of their zone.

Best win of the season based on the opponent. (BC didn't have White in that win)

Great win. Downer is Walman injury, but it seemed like his shoulder never fully recovered from the original December injury. Tanev always gives max effort and he put the team on his shoulders in the third period last night. For a guy his size, he plays fearless and finishes his checks. I watched the disallowed goal on the tv replay and could not see convincing evidence that offsides occurred. Thought they were going to take away the second goal when they reviewed that, even though that looked totally clean. Never saw so many goal reviews as this year. Bunyon is the worst official in hockey.

I like to hear how it is Bunyon's fault overturning these calls? Overturning a call isn't the refs fault.

My problem with the second review was the time it took. On the replay, it was clearly not goalie interference

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

The best part of this win is they did not quit......kept playing all 3 periods and OT......could have easily quit down 2 half way thru the third

My Bunyon comment was more of a general anti-Bunyon observation that can be applied to any game he refs.
