Providence College on the road to Tampa

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

This could be where we see Hawkey get a shot in goal, from what I hear he has earned one and Ellis could use a break

On to UCONN. I don't expect we'll win 10-1 this year. They have some dangerous players and they excell at winning or tying after being outshot heavily (aka, the Icebus.) We need to very good to come out of this with 3-4 points or else I see a repeat of the UNH weekend.

I think UConn is more dangerous than UNH or Maine was...He has to get one of those UMass-Amherst games.

91 I missed you, welcome back !!!! Exlax has a tough life, its hard to be perfect all the time, go easy on him !!!

It's good to be almost back from the dead. :)

Z is NOT a PC and that's ok. Unfortunately he gets mistaken for a PC fan because he lives on this thread and that confuses other fans and fan bases. All are welcome here, as far as I'm concerned, no matter who they root for but I wish folks wouldn't confuse him for a PC fan. He makes us all look like dopes. Question Leaman and/or second guess him all you want as a fan. It's your right but the fact of the matter is Leaman won a national championship less than a year ago and teams would be all over trying to sign him if he was available.

I for one have been fan of PC since 1986 and remember all too well the lean years. I think PC is very fortunate to have Leaman as coach and the best is yet to come.

We all know Leaman is going to The Big Ten if they ever get their act together. From the area, and can pay mountains more than PC.

Been going to PC games since 89 so I been through the lean times too. I want the success to continue but looking down the road, the recruits aren't signing with PC at the level they are up the street at BU.

Not sure where you get your info but PC has a very good pipeline, prob the best they have had in many years. Very, very good future

No one is keeping up with BU currently and that includes BC. Nor will PC ever go after or get those type of all about me, two and done wonder kids

I believe he gets his information from the UNH recruit thread

PC makes it a point to not recruit kids like that.

Bob Driscoll's three goals for PC are: be the most respected program in the nation, have a 100% graduation rate, and compete for national championships.

I'd say they're doing fairly well at achieving them.

Coach Leaman is signed until 2020 or 2021 so I'm not worried about him going anywhere. I also feel very comfortable with his recruiting so far. Coaches are going to miss out on players every year. Some misses hurt and some are a blessing in disguise in the long run.

Coaches breaking contracts...that never happens

Name the hockey coach who broke his contract to coach at another college. Broke the contract, not was allowed out of his contract. Leaman isn't going anywhere until 2020-21 at the earliest. You can bet the farm on it.

Nate Leaman...finished the first year of a new five year contract extension at Union when he went to PC. Semantics about being let go or not.

That's a good point. Despite Gillies being a horrible sieve (sarcasm), we all thought they'd take a step back this year. We were very wrong.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Up 3-0. Getting the impression that the Ruggerio penalty was BS.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

PC wins their 20th in Nate Leaman's 99th win at Providence. Hayden Hawkey gets a shutout. PC is ranked 5th in the nation. I'd say that is worth celebrating. I don't care what some others say. Way to go Friars!

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

That was a good call, dumb play on his part......big shut out for Hawkey..... now to do it again Saturday

I thought the UConn player was already down when he hit him and it wasn't that hard of a hit...How bad was the UConn major?

Hawkey showed tonight that Ellis needs to sign at the end of this season as Hawkey was extremely sharp and could take Ellis job next season.
