Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Friars battled from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to tie the game at 3-3 but lose it early in OT. Interesting that Gates got the start in goal for this one. Next up, UNH home and home next week. The 0 for January continues for both the men's teams hockey and bball.

With apologies to cross country, men's soccer and women's hockey, our entire athletic department needs to burnt to the ground.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Now a days Friar fans don't have to wait until Febuary to enjoy the annual February Slide. We get to enjoy it a whole month earlier thanks to Bobby, Timmy and Keno!!!!

Thanks guys! It's been a pleasure to witness the magic that can happen when you have three people so far in over their heads.
Imagine where they'd be if their noses weren't so far up the PC president's arse????

Can't wait to get my bumper sticker "PC Athletics: Still Ridiing When We Used To Be Good" or "FRIARTOWN- So Proud of So Little"

You and saty sound like 2 know it all negative fools. "from what I could tell on the Cox feed it was not pretty"? Very good effort and the fans/students there saw a very solid game. MC beat bc last week and could have won the other game vs them
You should both just go away, you both have no clue
They have played 6 good games in conference and anyone who is a pc fan should be happy with the start
2 fools
Does BU suck as well

Pc outshot them 2 to 1 and outplayed them and BU is the sole undefeated team in country left

Enjoy and support or shutup

Just thought we could use a little of this. You know, to lighten the mood.

You better leave soon, Maines a long way from here

Haha I live in southern Maine, UMaine's actually like 5 miles closer to my house than PC is.

I'm alright with last night's game. Maine definitely let PC come back into the game, but hey, I won't complain. I'm nervous for the UNH games.

I haven't bothered to update the numbers in my signature but Army's record from January on is so awful, these games are only adding to the futility.

Back to 8th place now, 3 points ahead of UVM -- it's looking like those games up there next month might determine whether PC even makes the Hockey East Quarterfinals, given how difficult their schedule is. In fact, other than 2 games with Lowell (one of the worst teams in the nation at 2-18), there's not any contest left that make you think "they've got a good chance there." Everything could be a loss given Army's history of choking it up in the second half of the season.

We've seen it all before, sadly. And nobody seems to care enough to do anything about it, which is why I don't bother going.

LOL, those were fun times, weren't they? The great thing about him was how he always found 1 game out of an entire season to base his grand opinions on. Like how BC was never going to win anything after that Fenway Park loss to BU and how much he said it meant to BC -- which must have been why they ended up winning the national title that year. Of course, lol.

I'm sure he's off somewhere, enjoying bathroom stalls around New England rinks, plotting his return to ruin the thread of fans far and wide. My big gripe is why, oh why, did it take so long to get him run -- and why 91 had to spend an entire season or whatever it was sitting on the sidelines.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Like last night when Maine at home had to take them to OT to beat them?

Doesnt look like anyones quitting to me. They have games left vs U Mass Amherst, 2 vs Lowell, 2 vs UVM, 2 vs BU(which they can win), 2 vs MC, which they can at least split, 23/24 points has always been the rule of thumb to get in but uml, um and vt are so bad it might take less this year.

Maine coach Tim Whitehead said, “I was really impressed with Providence’s determination. They were down and out, but they came back.

A lot of hockey left. Tough schedule but they look like they have the ability and resiliance to make it interesting.

They didn't quit they played hard the whole game. Maine has more talent and way less heart

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

My father (a giant Maine fan) was ranting about how Tim Whitehead let the Friars get back into the game. I think it was a combination of sub-par Maine coaching and a lack of skill on PC's part compared to Maine. I'll agree that PC definitely wanted it more, but just couldn't step it up.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

As Bill Parcell said you are what you are, check the record, almost gets no points and we are destined to go to the bottom

Cripes, just when things couldn't get any worse...

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Bump from page 3!!!!

Remember when the Providence men's program used to have a game coming up against a nationally ranked team and people used to care???

I know it's been a long tiime!!!
Driscoll and Army have done a GREAT job getting this program to another level!!!! ;)

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

It seems to have become irrelevant for the folks who used to hang out here.

Remember, when PC used to have a chance at winning?
