Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

It's not even debatable at this point, is it?

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Unfortunately, BU won't be down too long. The Terriers had a relatively slow start (by their standards) last year and we all know how that turned out for them. They were on fire for the last two thirds of the season.
I don't think that BU can rebound to the same degree this season because the hole that they've dug but they will NOT finish in the cellar. You can bank on that.
I know that our BC friends are hopeful for a total collapse but Coach Parker will have them turned around to a respectable degree before the Beanpot. Which they WILL win because that's what the Terriers do. (Sod off PFD :p )

The Friars are going to have to really make a push in the second half of the season if they are going to catch the Mack, NU or BU for the final playoff spot.
No one seems to have PC winning either game this weekend so maybe they can sneak up on either the Cats or the Eagles. :D

They are on Cox 3 so I will remain in Newport and save the gas and the planet by producing less carbon....besides its not that much fun this year or last year for that matter all I do is get mad and drive like it after these games

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

BC is going to win the beanpoy
BU is dead without Gilroy, Lawrence, Mcarthy, Wilson, Higgins etc
No one even close to their leadership, maturity and talent

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Hey look who got out of the Mens room stall !!!!!!!
BU still has Jackie as a leader and is always ready at the end of the regular season unlike some teams with no coaching leadership

I salute your efforts to save our planet. ;)

We all know that you'd drive a baby seal and bald eagle fueled SUV to the games, while dumping your excess motor oil in the sewers along the way and illegally park in a handicapped space close to the door just to be the first one in, if this team was performing like they did in the 80's.

The fact that the game is on Cox (hehehe) provides you with a convenient excuse. :p

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

What's a Beanpoy?

Something Merrimack will never play in. Maybe they should go bck and rekindle their heated rivalry with Salem State. Then you could get the Salem Eavening news to share with us some great inside scoops. Eh Squaw??

First week in February is not the end of the regular season.

BC will run them out of the building if they play..

That and the wife has baking to do

Oh snap! If you are going to throw out a line like that, then it MUST be followed by a disclaimer that states, "I'm Mrs. SK and I approve this message" or you'll be on the couch for the next month!!!   ;)

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Is the Cox Cable broadcast of Friday nights game available on the web?

Good news for Harvard and NU!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

I'm not sure. Sorry. I don't believe that it will be based on the Cox track record but I'm not sure. :o

I think that's a no. Cox doesn't stream on line if I'm not mistaken.

I did catch the PC/URI hoops game on Cox last Saturday, but that was only because a PC hoops fan felt like setting a live camera in front of his TV. The picture quality was almost as bad as PC's defensive effort in the second half...

Any true PC fan will be at the Coffin on Friday night. Unless he has better plans, which by this point, could well include a root canal.

Not to be negative, but this weekend has all the ear marks of a sweep. Sigh.

There better be a sweep this weekend favoring of the Friars. The Friars cannot afford to be swept. Two losses this weekend will put them too far behind the pack heading into a month of inactivity, especially with some tough games facing them coming out of the break in January.
The Friars are in trouble so I hope to see a nice turn out by the fans (both student and otherwise). Saty is excused this one time but EVERYONE else must be there! ;)
I think that PC is going to steal one game this weekend.
Most likely the UNH game should be more of an opportunity for an upset because UNH may overlook the Friars, it's the first game of the weekend so the Friars will fresher, PC got housed in Maine last weekend and will be looking to rebound, and the game is on the smaller sheet.
If PC loses both then it doesn't bode well at all. Let's hope for the best.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

In the interest of fair play I will give my tickets to 2 loud PC fans to cheer them on, but I really feel the end is near and it could be this weekend

OMG, I am finally going to get to a game this weekend (Saturday) and you're telling me it's all over? Sheesh, I've got my rose colored glasses all polished up. ;)

I appreciate your extreme pessimism, but even if they get swept, they still have to play the rest of the season.
The only "end" would be the destruction of this program. Which will never be destroyed, just like our glorious baseball and football teams!
