Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

That was not the point. Point was how much things have changed.

At the end of the day, its not pro sports, its college kids. I choose to go along for the ride and enjoy it. Was a brutal year but so far so good. Why sit around and wait for the flu to show up. Teams healthy and playing well.

Some on here take great pleasure in trying to be witty and negative. Why bother going if that is your attitue. Just be the phoney, band wagon jumper you are, wait for them to start winning and then show up.
Forgotten more about hockey then pc will ever know, even if he spent 6 months 24/7 surfing google on it

(7-5-1)[2-3-1] So far so good????????? Hey Fred... I think we found your rose colored-glasses!!!!

No question

With quality wins vs U Mass lowell, ND and Northeastern vs 7 wins all of last eyar, that is good. Very good and something for a team not used to winning lately to build off of

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

OK.... I think it is safe to say parker did this to kick start the F's. To say otherwise is foolish and as the great one would say, not factual. Parker's comments are though factual...

Disappointed with the production he had received out of his top line, Boston University men’s hockey coach Jack Parker stacked the primary unit with three of his club’s most dynamic players for Saturday night’s affair with the University of New Hampshire. Freshman forward Alex Chiasson and his team-leading four goals were added to Friday night’s pairing of junior center Nick Bonino and sophomore forward-defenseman David Warsofsky on BU’s starting line, a combination that was intended to kick offensive lulls and reinvigorate the attack with each new shift

I thought Bonino came out of it a little bit tonight. He got his legs back a little bit tonight, made some plays,” Parker said.

But as the game progressed, Warsofsky was needed elsewhere, and the goal proved to be that unit’s only of the evening.

Thus, Parker employed a different formula to try and ensure the most beneficial spread.

“We just rotated four lines with three left wings, so sometimes it was [sophomore Ross] Gaudet, sometimes it was [senior] Zach Cohen, sometimes it was [sophomore Andrew] Glass,” Parker said. “It was one of those three. Those three played, and the rest of the other four lines played for the most part until the very end.

“So, it was four lines with three left wings. Mostly every time a line went out, a center went out, he had a different left wing, but it kept those guys in the game.”

The go-to explanation for this team has been that the talent is there –*– they just haven’t managed to put it all together, yet.

Yeah, thanks. That ran in the paper I work for, so way to really enlighten me. Chris Connolly was out for the two games Warso played forward. Warso would not have played forward had Connolly been in the lineup. That's not my opinion. That's a fact.

Thats a shame then that Parker was misquoted. That is to bad.

Sounds like Bonino was lighten it up and parker was happy with his play.

Evert team has injuries and moving a D to F and doing so on the first line sums it up. Spin it how you would like. Parker didn't, so why should you

Parker IN FACT said he did it to open things up and kick start a slumping set of F's

Dude... I cover the team. You don't need to tell me what Parker said and what he didn't. Parker said all along that once everyone was healthy, Warso would be back on defense. Moving him to F was meant to jumpstart an offense that was struggling BECAUSE OF INJURIES. Had everyone been healthy, he would've simply shuffled the lines. The forward corps had not been completely healthy all year until Saturday's game vs. Cornell.

I hope this isn't use as a reflection of your clip and posting skills.

I am happy for you. Thats great and I am sure you enjoy it. I don't need to tell you anything, agreed. But I also don't need you to interput Parker's comments from his press conference or what he was quoted as saying. every single team has injuries and he said more then once that Bonino and others were not playing to their ability. The injury/injuries, which every single team has simply gave him the opportunity to try and wake up his F's play. When Cavanaugh was out for PC I didnt see fayne playing F.

Not trying to be patronizing but there is no way anyone can say he was happy with his F's play. He did what he did for many reasons, injuries being one of them.

Or PC91 can go to Pat's pizza which is an institution in Orono.

This conversation is going in crazy crazy circles.

Now we add BU fans to giant PC/MC/UML/UMASS/RPI/MTU/UNH web of insanity that is the PC Season Thread.

Pats has sucked ever since they replaced the ovens. Go rum bowling at the Jade for a better time. Maine is a one of a kind place to hang out at. Sure did blow though before the Black Bear Inn was built. Thank God Dan lafayette met Henry paige and got it built.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Maybe Jackie Parker didn't say those things at the press conference maybe it was over a few beers at Hockeydads house while he was asking for help with his offence

No, he said them and his actions were clear

He did so while him, PC and SM were going over the cheapest way to get to Colby and save on tolls.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Well here we go again hoping for at least a split......we are just not that good and I feel we are in for another Army year.......Jon there will be no parades on Admiral Street this year......the glass is dry

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

PC was 0-8 on the power play tonight.

that's not good. time to be negative!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Not a frequent poster, but have a question.
Heard TA being interviewed tonight between periods. When asked about the power play, in effect, he said that he gives the players some basic ideas and then it is up to them to figuer out how to go from there. Don't these guys at this stage of their game, need detailed guidence? It sounded to me like he thinks he is coaching a pro team that has a wealth of experience and does not require a lot of detailed coaching.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

That has been my point from long ago......he is a pro coach like Rick Pitino is a college coach and he should resign and go back to the pros

Stop being negative, June.

They didn't even outshoot them.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

PC was 0-8 on the power play tonight.

And not only that, but they were outshot 30-23 -- even with 8 power play chances, double the time that Maine had in the box! That's downright pathetic.

Needless to say, it's not a good way to open up this stretch. The reality is that if they don't win 2 of the next 3 games heading into Christmas break, they're going to be behind the eight-ball again in the conference. And the way HE is going, the Friars might well finish again near the bottom simply because the "weak" part of the league is better than it was a year ago...Merrimack is improved, BU can't be this bad...PC needs to pick things up here quickly.

PC limited Maine to 2 goals (3rd goal was an empty net short handed). Beaudry played well and I thought the Fryars skated very well. PC really needed to score on one of those 8 or 9 PP's.:(
