Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

The number one reason for a coaching change was to get better and he has failed its as simple as that......they are who HE chose to recruit I do not believe the school has set restrictions on him except the recruits have to have some intelligence and character and we are the bottom feeders in HE....whose fault is this, the coaching, the players, the pep band, PC91 or maybe Jon.......please tell me why I should be happy thru 2013

Maybe because these are a bunch of young men/kids playing a college game. Maybe because they are doing well, more wins today then they had through January last year and have had some very nice quality wins to date.

Finger pointing is a waste of time. if you have taht attitude and want to show up at eevry game with a negative belief and want all the kids, coaches etc to be gassed, then don't go. The 2009/2010 PC hockey team is in place and it is what it is, Cheer them on or stay home.

The future is fine, they have some nice recruits, rookie of the week etc, some draft picks, two there now and one coming next season. It is not that bad if you forget last year and simply look 9/1/09 and forward.

get with the program or dont go watch.. Support the team on the ice and enjoy the ride. PC hockey is fine and will be better over the next 2-3 years+

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

At least they have a team loaded with northeast region kids and not kids from all over the world. BC/BU/MC/UNH/Northeastern etc all are riddled with western canadian kids.

Oh Really?

BC: 2 kids from western Canada (BC/AB/SK/MB), 20 from the Northeast (New England + New York)
BU: 4 kids from western Canada, 10 from the Northeast
MC: 8 kids from western Canada, 11 from the Northeast
UNH: 2 kids from western Canada, 10 from the Northeast
NU: 6 kids from western Canada, 7 from the Northeast
PC: 3 kids from western Canada, 14 from the Northeast

BC has less western Canadians and more kids from the Northeast than PC. UNH has less western Canadians as well. Aside from Merrimack and maybe NU, I wouldn't exactly say that all these rosters are "riddled with western Canadian kids."

Then again, what's wrong with having kids from Canada on your roster? Did you get cut from your mite team when you were younger because some kid moved into the neighborhood from British Columbia? Is this the reason for your bias?

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Yeah, PC fans, you should be happy! Your team might finish near the bottom of the playoff teams again! Losing in the first round of the HE tourney and not making the NCAA's is the goal of every program, right?

I guess that's the best way to make it look like you're doing a good job - do so bad one year, that anything you do the next year seems incredible (see also: Detroit Lions, 08 vs 09), and makes people (who haven't been paying much attention) say, "look, they're improving!"

your making stuff up
Care to clip and post to prove it?

I think it's awesome how this week, the biggest detractor of PC hockey and the biggest optimist for the program posted on the same thread and refused to acknowledge one another. I would think a UnhCat07/Hokydad throw down would be the greatest thing to happen to USCHO since Bobo met the Pinheads. It would make every English teacher in America cringe.

I'm particularly amused by the Cat's comment about the rats.

Don't forget Bobo had Shaheen's janitor as backup.

Hire Pooley!!! :D

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Is it me or is this thread reminiscent of the UHN vs. PC fan threads of the pre-Army era?

Fair enough

But being even more fair, >>>

MC has 14 kids from canada and another from France. 1 from California, 1 from Minnesota and 2 from Illinois. Thats a lot of bodies..

BU has 3 kids from Massachusetts. One being a practice player.

Not a big deal but the landscape has sure changed over the past 20 years.

BC seems to be the only team trying to win with Mass kids. 10 of them, all being key outside the back up goalie.

Even our state school U mass has more kids from Canada and Minn then they do from Mass.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

PC has 7 wins as of 11/24.
They had 7 wins all of last year
It has to be a start

No, it could be a start. It could also be an illusion. Those of us who've actually watched hockey for more than the past year and a half have seen plenty of teams start out strong (even stronger than PC this year, if you can believe that!) only to disappear in the second half of the season. It doesn't have to be anything. Not yet.

Was there when PC beat BC and eventually lost to RPI in championship game., was there when maine beat Lake Superior State, sparked by a jim montgomery hat trick from mr kariya. Jeff jackson had a heck of a team. Seen a lot more then you might thinkl

Which makes your point of view all the more inexplicable. You group Army's record with Pooley's even though it's worse, say the team is on the right track -- barely even acknowledging the "train wreck" that was entirely the doing of ARMY and then, after not even 2 months of the new season, are so satisfied Army knows what he's doing that you're proclaiming everything is fine and dandy. No offense but it reminds me of the season of DALLAS years ago where JR woke up and it was all a bad dream. Apparently that's how you look at last year (and still, you've never once answered where you were last season).

And your assertion that at least PC has local kids so that, in effect, "means more" than having those awful Canadian players -- that's something Lou never believed in years ago, and it's a recipe for a losing program if the caliber of those local players isn't good enough.

Your ignorance just keeps on growing...and now you're biased on top of it. Good combo -- keep it up!

If a kid can play hockey, does it matter where he's from? Personally, I could care less if a player were from Massachusetts or Mongolia. If he can play hockey, is a good student, and represents the school well, does it really matter?

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

I write taht eevry wrong in each post because I have a learning disability. I tell you all that they are typos but I do it each time I write those words. The Lynn Public School System failed to educate me and they were the ones keep me from sounding smart but I can't help it. It's called ILLITERACY, enjoy the ride.

And the truth shall set you free. ;)
The first step was admitting that you are LD. The second is posting intelligent things.

I'm sure that you were.
And then those D1 coaches came over to your house to have beers and read our posts on USCHO. :p :p :p :p
Remember that story that you told when you first became a Friars fan.

What a clown!!! Area clown.

Mr. Kariya? Your news clipping didn't mention his first name did it? So you call him Mr.
Dope.

You hit it right on the head. That can't be disputed by anyone because it's common sense and all the D1 coaches who go over to Hokydads half way house in Lynn to hand out turkeys would also agree.

But I bet my cyberpuppet has a different spin on the reality that you've all hammered him with.

And the my donkey brays ........

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Seen a lot more on TV then you might thinkl

But it wasn't hockey related cause you think that a team of locals is fine as long as you don't have those western Canadians.
We are all LOL at you!!!:p
Fortunately, you don't see it and continue to post for our amusement. For this we thank you.
It makes the day go by faster.

Bray on my donkey.....

That was not the point. Point was how much things have changed.

At the end of the day, its not pro sports, its college kids. I choose to go along for the ride and enjoy it. Was a brutal year but so far so good. Why sit around and wait for the flu to show up. Teams healthy and playing well.

Some on here take great pleasure in trying to be witty and negative. Why bother going if that is your attitue. Just be the phoney, band wagon jumper you are, wait for them to start winning and then show up.
Forgotten more about hockey then pc will ever know, even if he spent 6 months 24/7 surfing google on it

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

All that braying you just did is a sad attempt at back peddling.

I laughed my butt off about you claiming to know more about hockey then anyone because so far you haven't proven that you know ANYTHING about hockey to date!!!

Since you began trolling here, you babble that PC fans should be happy because they had the worst season in their history last year but all is great because they have already hit 7 wins so far. (Four of the wins came by beating cupcakes and they followed their best win by getting housed at Dartmouth!!!)

We've been cutting and posting using your own words and you STILL don't see it. You are a cheerleader but that's about it. You have yet to demonstrate ANY hockey knowledge.

You make dumb points, back peddle or change your posts when you get called on it. Pathetic.
I've also enjoyed reading your suck up posts to the guys and yet when they throw your dumb posts back in your face, you back peddle further.

As far as being negative. The negativity has been aimed at only three people, a coach how has been just a bit better than horrible since he's arrived, the AD that hired him and usually ignores the hockey program in favor of the hoop program and a troll (you).

Now get back to saying more funny things to make us laugh....
