It's a slow day. I command my donkeypuppet to post something funny. Don't worry, you can change it later. :p

"Like PC hasn't swept up in Maine in like 25 years."

Hokydope pretends to know the program but failed again.

Submit something real Lynn like, donkey!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

I was also with friends that happen to have a son who played for PC but rest assured we were friends before he attended Providence.

He's still a thug and you just wanted to bang his sister.:p

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Just because 2 or 3 folls say it does not mean it is true Clip and popst the articles that show exactly what you say or shut up. If you do, I will. You can't because your full of crap and jaded to the point you can't deal with reality

There are people better at going through these boards and finding specific articles.
However given the longevity of your fan status, I’m sure you’ve been around long enough to recall reading the clipping from the papers and TV/Radio spots that were posted up here.

I can deal with reality. Tim Army has a loosing record. Other than some facelift improvements to Schneider Arena and some new faces, I don’t see the mass of success that the Fan Base should be excited about.

When was the last time Providence had a run at anything other than the Coffee Cup or Mayors Cup? Is that a jaded question/answer?

How is this for a jaded reality???? (feels Cav-ish...... :D )

If there are so many articles, clip and post them. they should be at their fingertips

program looks pretty consistant over past ten years, long before current coach got there outside last year. based upon play to date this year, they have gotten back on track and deserve the benefit of the doubt

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

program looks pretty consistant over past ten years, long before current coach got there outside last year.

Win totals:

2009 7 (4 in HE)
2008 14 (11)
2007 10 (9)
2006 17 (14)
2005 12 (6)
2004 16 (7)
2003 19 (12)
2002 13 (8)
2001 22 (13)
2000 18 (13)

That's consistent?

That's even worse.

2006 was a GOOD year?!?!

What the HELL are you smoking?? WHAT "track" are you speaking of -- the one to finish 6th or 7th and get swept out of the Quarterfinals for the 10th time in 11 years or whatever it is??

You are certifiably insane. The "current coach"'s winning percentage is worse than his predecessors...by a wide margin if I'm not correct.

Stop being so relentlessly negative. ;)

Unlike Hokydad's constant bashing of everyone here who cites things like statistics, the numbers don't lie. They're unbiased. And the stats you posted are interesting #1FF-- and they also tell us this team has had 1 really good year in about a decade (the 2001 season).

Prior to that, I'd have to look at the numbers, but basically the amount of "good years" (and by that I mean over 20 wins and some post-season success of some kind) we've had here are basically countable on one hand...and that's over the last two decades.

Since we came a goal short of the Frozen Four in '89 there hasn't been a heck of a lot to celebrate...'96 with the conference title (when we played a lame duck Maine team and a flu-ridden BU squad to win the Fleetcenter)...and '01 with the NCAA bid....and....not much else. A couple of QF wins over BU at home in the late '90s that were memorable (and in '01), but that's basically it.

That's not being negative. It's reality. Sadly.

Consistent in its inconsistency.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Not one of these posts proves jack diddly crap

They have been a middle of the pack team over the past decade, well before the current coach. They are light years ahead of where they were last year so it seems to be a one time major train wreck. they are back on track to be the same as they have been over last 7-9 years. Not better, not worse. they could though keep it up, win a few close ones, the goalie steals a couple and end up in the play offs. If they get knocked out in qtr finals, same as all but once in the past decade.

They have a great young group and recruiting is solid. The glass is 68% full and after this weekend in Maine, where I think they will split it will be 69.7% full.

At least they have a team loaded with northeast region kids and not kids from all over the world. BC/BU/MC/UNH/Northeastern etc all are riddled with western canadian kids.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

The number one reason for a coaching change was to get better and he has failed its as simple as that......they are who HE chose to recruit I do not believe the school has set restrictions on him except the recruits have to have some intelligence and character and we are the bottom feeders in HE....whose fault is this, the coaching, the players, the pep band, PC91 or maybe Jon.......please tell me why I should be happy thru 2013
