Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

I hope Jon can catch on with the Bruins it would be the only reason I would go to their games

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

If it wasn't for the RI Storm, I would have lost my hockeyloving mind!!!

Granted, I love the after party at the Mews as well but it's the quality of hockey that has held me over.

Maybe some of you will make the trip to Boss Arena tomorrow? Faceoff is at noon.

The Mews = good!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

He got the game winner the other night for Springfield. I believe he's got 5 goals and 6 points total. Just follow close enough to see how he's doing, but he seems to be a 3rd liner and seems to essentially be filler. Size got him to where he is, but he never was willing to use it.

I was actually out there Friday night for the game. He played on their top line, 1st set of penalty killers and powerplay. He was pretty much a nonfactor in the game that ended up being lost by sprinfield in overtime 3-2. Sprinfield was down 2-0 till 10 minutes left and tied it up late with 2 goals, but I didnt see Colin do much. And as Cav pointed out he still is not willing to use that size so I would think hes going to be a career ahl guy if he wants to continue playing because he definitely didnt stand out to me to say he should be up with the oilers.

Also, saw Cody play as well and he looked pretty good out there. Was the quarterback on the powerplay, moved the puck well as always and skated well, doesnt seem to jump up in the play anywhere near as much as he did at PC, but seems to definitely have improved on the defensive end. I would think he could play as a 5th or 6th defenseman in the nhl as long as you put him with a stay at home guy so he can jump up in the play and use his skating which has always been his best asset.

And how! I went back to the Mews after the Storm beat the C-dogs yesterday in a shootout at Boss. They have the best food and no bad ice!:p

I'm looking forward to tomorrow night's game. It seems like forever since they men's team has played. They must be itching to get back to action.

Nice game turned in by the women's team yesterday beating BU 6-2. Nicole Anderson (sp) turned in a hat trick. Go Friars!

Bad news: You've been barred from attending for being a clown/maggot hybrid. I won't be there because I have no life.
But if you don't actually root for PC and you have awful spelling and grammar, you get in free.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Don't forget the purple pants !!!!!

You won't recognize me today as I'll be wearing jeans. I wanted to blend in with our friends from Brown so I'll be wearing business casual attire. ;)

Let's show our friends from the East side how we roll on the West side or Westsizzle as we say in my hood.:p

There have been SO MANY other reasons to ban me in the past so it saddens me that I've got to go out like this. :o
Not exactly the blaze of glory that I thought that I'd be going out in... :(

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

I'm going to be going to Dodge Ball. Hopefully, Alex Beaudry can catch a puck better than I can a ball. Sigh.
Go Goons, beat Bruno!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Ah, the Mayor's Cup Tournament. Right up there with the great college hockey tournaments. I am bummed I have to work tonight. Where are the pregame festivities?

Go Friars!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

The pregame stuff is at the mayors house.....he is putting on his cheerleader dress as we post.........RJ and Mario are helping him zip up or down I am not sure which way but then neither is he....

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

Could be worse. Could have been Menino in that dress.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

If what I saw to-nite is all we can do then we are in for a long season.....PC was all over the ice most of the game with no regimented play at all....Brown was able to knock us down at will and they are not very big, imagine what will happen when full size hockey players start hitting us.......we took some real dumb penalties again 2 caused us to miss power plays but the power play is a non factor so we really didn't miss much......saw a few players I am sure will not dress for HE games and if you look at the shots on goal you would think we were great, we were not.........a win 4-3 big deal it was BROWN 0-5-0 BROWN........if PC plays like they did to-nite this week-end then its over for HE anything

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE GLASS STATUS IS!!!!!!! Are we at DEFCON 1 or what? Never mind hocky talk!

Glass is now at 57.63% full status. PC91 is still a punk/maggot, Murray is still a has been, and I still have life. And Hokydad is still not a PC fan.

Right now the only team PC has beaten in their 6 wins that has a winning record is Umass (Bowling Green is 1-8, Brown is 0-5, Holy Cross is 3-5, and even Notre Dame is 5-5).

I didn't see this one but it does not sound like a particularly impressive performance tonight. True, they did win, so that has to count for something but...tougher times are ahead, and quickly at that.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 In-season Thread

The game was hopefully a wake up call. Brown is struggling out of the gate and still managed to make this a tight one at the end. PC was up 4-1 to start the third period and barely held on for a 4-3 win.
That won't work against most D1 college teams let alone HE teams. Hats off to Brown for making it a game but I agree that there seemed to be a lot of skating around but little direction.
PC's record against suspect competition has me a bit concerned. Fans of the team have seen these starts before and know how they usually end. Let's hope last night serves as a reminder that the effort needs to be there for the full 60 minutes.

Congratulations on a job well done to AD Bob and all the folks that helped to make the FOFH Room a showpiece!!! The room looks great and is worth the membership and then some. Thank you to the Leary family (Bill Leary PC 60) for their generous donation et al that helped make the room possible.
Now, if I can just get my friends in Section E to join so I don't have to visit them among the common folk AND PC can work reciprocal agreements with other "Friends" rooms throughout HE then we'll really be cooking with gas.
;) :D

I was remiss in mentioning Bill's wife, Mrs. Emily Leary. We all know that behind every good man is a great woman, sarcastically rolling her eyes. ;)
Thank you both for helping to create such a nice spot to watch the game or socialize with friends. :)

I know what you're thinking. Yes, I DO have friends!!!

If you had so many then you'd be out talking to them instead of reading my post yet thinking so ill of my social life! Now sod off, you negative ninny.
