I thought Obama was the one handing out cash to blacks?

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

So now we know how this absolutely won’t play out ....

;) If Republicans are invincible how does Scooby explain them losing the House and getting Chump impeached again?

Schumer or whoever needs to call Itch's bluff. I'd be happy with a Bolton and Hunter Biden trade off. Lets get it done.

IMO the Ds caught breaks with Ukraine and Bolton, even if no witnesses testify and removal is summarily shot down. It might not be enough to win this fall, but it should help.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

mookie would gladly trade tD for creepy joe.
twice on sunday!

This.

BTW, Dr. Mrs. has had limited professional contact with Biden. I asked her whether he was creepy and she said, quote, "no moreso than most old men. He's handsy but it's not erotic, it's how he gladhands."

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

A Republican tool, voting Republican, and wanting to hear from Hunter Biden?

Better than the alternative. Manchin sucks on impeachment but I am certain he has voted with us plenty of times, if nothing else on process stuff. The alternative in his seat is a solid red vote.

Manchin ranks 53rd in conservatism by vote. That makes him better than 50 of 53 Republicans (Collins, Murkowski, Shelby), and in fact more liberal than 2 Dems (Jones, Sinema who's everybody's favorite)

There are no absolute values in politics, only relative relations. A conservative hypocritical moron Dem Senator is a win compared to the garden variety red stooge he defeats. Manchin is far more valuable to us than any solid blue state Senator, because he's a pick up and they are merely holds.

Remember, this is a lunatic Lefty saying this. Ideology is about values. Politics is about getting things done.

Source? Last I heard it was moving in the right direction to allow at least Bolton +1.

That's what I heard this morning on MSNBC from numerous reporters/pundits. Seems to backed up by the tweet posted in another thread. The GOP wanting this to be over ASAP is the way the wind is blowing. Could change after questioning today and tomorrow I suppose.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

Last night Itch was saying he didnt have the votes. I highly doubt that changed in 8 hours

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

I've posted about this before:

Rep.................Trump Margin...Vote /w Trump.....Dem Gain
Steve Womack.......+31.4%...........98%............+3.3%
Colin Peterson........+31%.............49%.............. +46%
Kay Granger...........+30.2%...........97.2%.......... +3.0%

Reps in Trump+30 districts on average vote with Trump 95% of the time.

Look at Rick Nolan in MN. A moderate Dem. He voted with Trump 27.8% of the time in a Trump+15 district. His replacement, Pete Stauber, has voted with Trump 91% of the time.
Tim Walz, also from MN. A liberalish Dem who voted with Trump 20.5% in a T+15 district. His replacement, Jim Hagedorn, 92.9%.

Look at the Republicans on this list. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...p-score/house/
Look at the ones who are in just Trump+3 districts and Democrats in Trumpy districts. The GOP is a digital signal. If you are an R, you vote lockstep. If you're a D, you are somewhere between 0-100%. Getting these people primaried and subsequently beat by the GOP means another district that votes nearly 100% with Trump.

Protect your Ds in red districts. They're more valuable than Ds in blue.

Edit: My god... Even the Rs in Trump MINUS 15 were voting 98% with Trump.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

To lighten the mood, here's the text from a bumper sticker I saw on a car this past weekend in St. Paul (text colors kept true to the sticker)

SUPERCALLOUSFRAGILE
RACISTSEXISTNAZIPOTUS

The car belonged to a gay black man entering a nail salon where I dropped off my wife. I had to snap a pic, it was too good.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

If McConnell had the votes to shut down witnesses, he would have announced it already. We can surmise from public comments and past history that he probably can't count on Murkowski (loves to screw over Trump for some reason), Romney (vying for the McCain self appointed maverick / Sunday talk show guest role), and Collins (re-election concerns). Itch can afford to lose all 3 and still win the vote, so there's one other holdout. I have no idea who that is. Could be Alexander who's retiring, or Gardner who's in the worst shape of any Republican Senator running for re-election. I can't think of anyone else as McSally, Tillis and Ernst who are also facing re-elections of various degrees of difficulty have all chosen to Hump Trump right up to election day.

BTW, Dr. Mrs. has had limited professional contact with Biden. I asked her whether he was creepy and she said, quote, "no moreso than most old men. He's handsy but it's not erotic, it's how he gladhands."

So in 30 yrs mookie will get more tittie than a newborn baby :p
