Dubya was the worst since Harding at least.

When all us partisans are long dead, Obama will be considered at the top of the second tier or at the bottom of the first tier of presidents. He had to contend with a disloyal opposition and yet maintained grace, courage and thoughtfulness throughout.

The contrast with the sad sack before him and the rotting carcass after him won't hurt, either.

But Mr. Trump said there was no cause for delay. And he said he would not accept a delay of more than a few weeks before a replacement plan was voted on. “Long to me would be weeks,” he said. “It won’t be repeal and then two years later go in with another plan.” That directly contradicts House Speaker Paul D. Ryan’s plans.

Mr. Ryan, who met privately on Monday with top transition officials, agreed with Mr. Trump on the state of the Affordable Care Act, saying Tuesday that its marketplaces were in a “death spiral.” But he has argued that lawmakers need time to write a bipartisan health bill that would replace it.

So, Trump says go ahead and repeal it without replacing it. But, he wants a replacement in 3 weeks and Ryan wants a Bipartisan bill. The clown show has started.

I guess. I've been looking for it for years. Been told numerous times on Fox and in the WSJ that they have "lots" of plans. I've yet to see one.

It's almost as if it was all just the GOP's cynical strategy to get votes and contributions and now that the dog has caught the car it hasn't a clue what to do.

What we're seeing now is the difference between a CEO wanting (ordering? demanding? mandating? threatening?) something done right now* in a corporate top-down structure (and expecting the minions to go and do it because he said to get it done) and how Washington and government traditionally works (wet finger, put into air; survey; try to build coalitions that are doomed to fail at some point; write two different bills and go to conference committee; delay, delay, avoid making decisions; take 'interim' measures while exploring options)**. The culture clash is great circus. But inertia seems invariably to win.

*I hate corporate mandates from "on high" because the ground always looks flat from 50,000 feet. --> "Why aren't you done yet?" <-- Dilbert examines this concept continually.
**Yes, I'll admit that was quite cynical toward government. But, I won't apologize because sometimes gridlock is good.

They've had 7 years to write a replacement. Or even give an idea. Times up.

When you come up with a solution and implement it and then someone comes along and says "that's terrible! Get rid of it!" without offering any solutions, you don't help them find one.

Really? Were you alive during the Clinton years? When the deficits were gone and we were actually running budget surpluses? What was the first thing W did once he took office?

And every time we get close to that happening(usually under democratic administrations) Republicans come along and scream that government's taking in too much money and we need tax cuts. And then they start wars in places with funny names. See: George W Bush.
