Not shocked at all. She's too much of a moderate conservative to remain at Fox.

I am a tad surprised she didn't land at CNN, and went straight to a real network. Maybe she has some brains after all. ;)

Fox has told me for years that they're all moderates. Fair and Balanced, don't you know?

Haha. Fox has never pretended to be "moderately conservative", they've pretended to be centrist with that "Fair & Balanced" bullsh*t. The reality is that the network is mostly arch-con, with a few moderates who are allowed to exist for "balance".

It sold 85,000 copies last year, mostly to academic institutions and libraries, according to your link. Hopefully, it's more to understand what's going on in the current culture, if there are direct correlations to 1930s Germany, and not an intent to reignite such ideology.

It blows, because you're alert enough to realize, Hey. There Is A Systemic Problem!, and not everybody is. But to have that intuition and still to fall for the very folks who are using us as beasts... that's a special kid of naivete right there.

Everything will be spun in some way. If you take a look at the things Hitler did when he first came to power, it's very similar to what has been done in the US ever since 9/11, including Bush's regime. We've seen the blueprint for "utopian" globalist society where people do not live free for so long that we can now recognize what they're doing to make it happen.

I hope so. But we should not ignore that right wing politics, xenophobia, and fascism are soulmates.

I recommend Origins of Totalitarianism, by Hannah Arendt, to understand. The book really surprised me because it's not at all the story one would expect. Totalitarianism does not come from a push towards anything, it's a disease of emptiness and reaction. Arendt talks a lot about South Africa in the book, which helps because Nazi examples are always overly colored by the extremity of the consequences of Naziism. To really understand fascism as it is developing here in America people are going to need to learn about much less dramatic and emotional examples, like Pinochet's Chile.

How are thousands of executives orders, along with hundreds of regulations being rammed as a lame duck, not fascism?
