Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

BTW Trump realizes it is not a good idea to **** off all the intelligence agencies right? Cause he kinda just did...

I don't think he knows that the noises that emanate from his taco bowl-eating hole are audible to others.

He's an embarrassing, disgusting child, but it will be interesting to see just how much he disappoints GOPers.

The GOP is sure interesting. Obamacare is front and center to be killed. BUT, and it's a huge BUT, they want to somehow keep all the expensive things it provides and eliminate how all those expensive things are funded.

They sure are interesting.

Funnier still is them bending themselves into pretzels excusing him, and reflexively attacking his critics instead of addressing the insipidness that drops from lips and tiny fingers.

Trump is the reductio ad absurdum of partisanship. We used to joke about a door stop labeled with an "R" having 49% support. He's even better than a door stop, because he's actively repellent.

Dubya associated the GOP with ineptitude, and Cheney with evil. Now Trump associates it with self-absorption. All we need is Cruz to pop his head up now and then for creepiness, and we've got the Four Horsemen of the Republiclypse.

I think most interesting is how the conservative media immediately started carrying his water once he became the nominee. I know for a fact that the liberal media NEVER carried Hillary's water and would not have if she had been elected.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I think the conservative brain is so vulnerable to the fear response in the face of change and what it perceives as outsider threat that it tends to break things down into "threats" and "worse threats" and forms alliances accordingly.

You're overthinking it. They just do what they're told. FNC could tell them to jump off a building.

I'm agreeing with your attitude every day Scoob. I am going to enjoy watching this play out.

My uncle-in-law (is that a thing?) has the right attitude. He's a sweet old retiree in AZ who started out sweeping shaving on a steel mill floor and wound up running the entire steel mill. Autodidact and one of the smartest guys I ever met. Liberal in a western way: commercially libertarian, socially "if it do no harm, let it be." Dr. Mrs. is very nervous about the Tan Tyrant getting us into a nuclear war or a global depression, and Frank very gently talked her down, saying "much of this is going to be very funny."

It is true. There was nothing funny about Dubya (disaster) or Obama (earnestness). But Trump is so stupid and undisciplined that he's a hoot. The people around him appear to be bad, but Trump himself is a clown. I think we could do worse than spend four years laughing at the clown.

Not the GOP, though. They're serious as a heart attack and humorless, and them we have to fight for every inch.

Count me in too. Once again I have to grudgingly give Trump his due on how he positioned himself over this issue. He's basically said nothing, and is going to leave Congressional Goopers to twist in the wind trying to come up with a plan. His campaign manager just stated nobody who currently has insurance will lose it. Methinks she didn't clear that statement with Ryan, Itch and crew before she made it. ;)

At the end of the day the media is trying to get paid like everyone else. I'm sure it wasn't always this way but the news is just entertainment and Trump sold.

I'm sure they will have some sort of half-as-sed "insurance" that doesn't cover anything that they'll give to those poor sods, and then claim "see, everybody's still covered," and their media will report it and their followers will believe it.

We're in a post-fact world; they can do anything they want and as long as they lie about it their people will never know.

News was a loss leader for the big three back in the day -- they used the impartiality and quality of news reporting to burnish their image. For a while we really did have quality news coverage.

That's gone except for PBS.

This is the last guy who took on the CIA. Just sayin.

RIP Dorothy Kilgallen. :(

Didn't Reagan also take them on, or was that just the Central Bank? Obviously we're discussing the same end result.

Granted, this time around, there is an info war, and it is much more difficult, what with WikiLeaks and other whistle blowers, to cover it up.

Even their radio wing, NPR, is starting to go downhill. The only advantage they have is that of a geographic monopoly.

Arise, independent media. Whether it's IW, TYT, HP, or whatever you want to look at/listen to.
