POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I haven't gotten that far in the Book of Mormon yet. Only about 529 pages to go.

I'm taking one for the team.

From the little I've scanned, if you read it as scifi it's a great piece of art. And who here hasn't wanted to create their own religion? Not even for the money, but just as a creative exercise? And a way to con your wife that you have to sleep with younger chicks because God said. You don't want to do it, but you owe it to her to stay righteous in the eyes of the Lord.

She really ought to be more grateful... the things you do for her...

Man, does he look miserable.

Seriously, he looks like he's being force-fed a sh*t sandwich in that photo.

EDIT: I wonder if they're drinking Trump Ice :D

And the guy feeding it to him enjoying every frickin' minute of it.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Stop holding the train for a guy who doesn't even want to board.

As much as we might make an attempt to separate ourselves from those people, there are still about a billion negative consequences resulting from that attitude that come back and affect us personally. Some of them direct, some of them indirect. But living in a country with the type of problems that arise from that level of poverty--and that theoretically could be fixed or at least lessened with proper effort--affects the value of my citizenship the same way that disenfranchising people because they're black or Muslim or don't own property affects the value of my citizenship even though I don't fit into any of those categories. "We all do better when we all do better"

And besides, if they're so happy with the way things are, why did I keep hearing so much about their "anger" and "dissatisfaction" as their reasons for voting for Trump? People "jumping them in line" because they worked harder with equal opportunity is just how America works; that's non-negotiable.

I keep going back to the parallels between Trumpism and heroin addiction. Stop acting like there is some sort of greater wisdom to it. Call it what it is, don't enable, and be ready to provide help when asked.

Less people being shot, that simple.
Edit: This includes suicides, it is still people being shot! If you look at Australia this is where the biggest impact of their law has been.

One of the links I posted for Kepler is a study that shows as gun ownership increases your chances of being shot by a stranger remain constant, but your odds of being shot by a known person increase. I'll take their analysis that controls for many variables over yours that closely examines Wikipedia :D

Are less people committing suicide or are less people committing suicide with a gun? There is no doubt that if fewer people owned guns fewer people would commit suicide with a gun. Other than banning guns I'm not really sure how else you would legislate it though. In most cases there is something besides guns causing someone to want to take their life and not having guns wouldn't solve this.

But there is no asking, nor introspection, with that group. Just blame and scapegoating.

Trump has that face of a child who just let a silent one rip and is thinking to himself, "Wait for it. Waaaaait for it...."

To quote the PE, wrong. First, yes, the number of suicides has been reduced significantly in Australia. A majority of suicide attempts are driven by a short term mental health crisis, not long term mental health issues. I believe it is over 70% of people that attempt suicide and live will not have a second attempt. Guns are by far the most effective method used to commit suicide, so removing them as an option has a big impact on overall success rates. Not having guns available to a person in the midst of a short term mental health crisis absolutely will have a MAJOR impact on suicides.

While I don't disagree, wiki's usually pretty good. In this case the data showing no correlation between homicides and ownership is not great...per my previous post.

Trump has that face of a child who just let a silent one rip and is thinking to himself, "Wait for it. Waaaaait for it...."

Or the spoiled rich brat leaking one at the dinner table, knowing the entire family will blame it on the wait staff.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Like the facts...not sure about your outcome. Here's why.

First, the data comes from two different sources: your wiki article is FBI and Factcheck and most other top ten violence rankings is CDC. The difference between the two sources is as follows:

Both have similar definitions for what constitutes homicide
FBI reporting is optional and is based strictly on police reports
CDC reporting is mandatory and is based on death certificates
CDC is the source of most gun violence analyses out there

https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/ntmh.pdf

Second, the wiki data is dated - 2010. The following CDC data is from 2014:

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/Homicide.htm

It appears there is in fact a correlation between homicides and gun ownership/laws.

I don't think the murder rates or gun ownership rates are going to change drastically between the 2010 data and 2013 data. But I'll find it if it makes you feel better

THe CDC doesn't use murder rate, it uses firearm death rate. Suicides matter, but including them in the data for death rate is ignoring the fact that people who want to commit suicide will find a way to do it. A firearm is likely one of the most effective means, but I'm not sure suicide rates would drastically decrease if we banned guns. So including some but not all would be more accurate. I have no idea what that number is.

Also, overall murder rate is not a great way to look at it either. You need to look at gun murder rate.

Suckers.

Wait, what's that? Oh, right. Suckers.

I think that's the main point of contention and I'm guessing suicide rate went down drastically in Australia after the gun ban.

Their economy has done well in the 20 years since the ban so that could be part of it along with other things. I think there is truth that if less people owned guns suicide rates would decline, I'm not sure how much they would though. And would there be an increase in other unpleasant things?

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

It's not more money going out, really. It's tax credits and other incentives to private industry to undertake public infrastructure projects.

Oh so he is a moron then?

The problem is they dont assume people who jumped them in line did it through hard work...especially if they are dem dirdy imigrants!! They assume women, Blacks and minorities all got a hand out and that is why they jumped them in line.

It isnt wisdom, it is laziness and bias. They think they are working hard and deserve better while everyone else is doing less and gets more. That is what we learned from the "White Working Class Man" in this election. They cant stand being stuck while others do better and they refuse to accept that anyone deserves more than them.

Now I hope they do repeal ObamaCare...the backlash will be classic. In 2 years the senate flips and in 4 the rest flip.

Best part is if they keep ObamaCare they will get backlash too...

As for Secretary Sachs...the people got what they wanted.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Pelosi re-elected at house minority leader.

The majority of democrats in congress must be tone deaf.

Yuck.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Oh so he is a moron then?

What?

What i'm getting at is Trump is not proposing that we spend a whole lot of money to improve infrastructure. His plan is to get private companies to do so via tax credits and other inducements. Like that's gonna happen.
