POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

If they had wanted to do that, they wouldn't have worn the hats in the first place.

I'm not sure that's true. I think it is entirely possible that a number of these guys were too dumb to understand the consequences.

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

I'm curious as to why you think half actually aren't full bore trumpers. Not saying you are correct or incorrect, just curious.

Is it hope? I admit to hoping/wishing most are not that awful because of how much their story meant to me.

But they are a bunch of middle aged/older white guys, many of them growing up in smaller town America. Those are often ground zero descriptions of trump humpers. Also, in 2020 I don't really think most people care anymore about who they may **** off. Our societal discourse now is so nasty and mean-spirited. We say it often that the right wing loves to **** off the rest of the world who knows the value of critical thinking.

It would be nice if at least some of these guys would come out and disavow the connection to trump a little more forcefully than that feeble attempt in their earlier tweet. I might have enough love of nostalgia to forgive and forget for those guys.

It has zero to do with hope. Just a feeling. I could break it down but honestly I dont care. To me now they are branded with that stupid hat.

Dont let them off the hook. These guys have been marketing themselves off the Miracle for 40 years. This was a way to stay relevant ...

To be honest I haven't been paying attention to them. I've probably thought about the 1980 team ten times in the last 40 years, and every one of them was because the ECACs were in Lake Placid.

I'm for letting them off the hook absent further information because I've never heard any of them channel Kurt Schilling or John Rocker. Now if they go on Hannity tomorrow then fine, f-ck them with a rusty skate blade. But until then I am just assuming Dumb Jock Disease.

Yup.

A bunch of them have businesses, I believe. Will they call ice on little brown kids? Wearing that hat is a statement and they know it

After that hat was spotted in Tom Brady's locker I think every athlete understands the consequences. They just don't care.

They are hockey players.
?TBI- that would explain a lot- including if they think they are relating to another mental midget

THis made me physically cringe. Now my brain needs bleach

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

In 1960, Herb Brooks was the last cut after Bobby Cleary agreed to play. In 1980 Herb Brooks cut a Harvard player, whose name escapes me, as the last cut.

Jack Hughes. In the movie "Miracle," it was Ralph Cox, from UNH.

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

There actually was a surge of BUSA for the Miracle team on social media, saying that BU was the real heart of the team.

That misses the point. Those claims are coming from BU fans on social media, not from here which is where his latest childish snipe generated.
