POTUS 46.10: A New Hope

The passport delay stems from the random things of the previous administration. Seen it on the cruise board for many years now.

Honestly, anyone who books international travel less than six months out who doesn't already have a passport is asking for this situation. I refuse to book flights to Europe or do any other planning until my wife finally makes the appointment and then receives hers.

The flip side to this problem is that the economy is rolling so well that there is a good amount of disposable income. The amount of travel tells us the economy is much stronger.

He knows that but he’s such a piece of shit, he’s grasping because he can’t find anything else. He really misses sucking that orange D

For those scoring at home, that's the 4,267th post in a row from Mr. Fair-and-Balanced-Centrist that links negative information to a Democrat. We should all just pause for a moment to appreciate the sheer improbability of this. I mean, this would be like being present when a pitcher pitches a perfect game and closes out the game by hitting a grand slam to set the major league record for wins in a season.

I have chills.

For those new to the Cafe, Drew is a regular poster who is Republican voter. Nobody denies this except Drew. He listens to the Echo Chamber and believes what he hears there, and he posts it here thinking he is being clever.

The rest of us think this is sad, but we have come to terms with it.

My wife and I renewed our passports last October for our trip this fall. Why risk it?

Ultimately, we got ours back around Christmas, so the 8 week estimate held even with the holidays in there.

You mean, people who railed against the 'Deep State', and were adamently antagonistic to career US government officials simply trying to do their jobs, might have an effect on how those jobs and services might function?

Get out of here with that woke shit.

How far in advance can you renew?

I think my passport expires in July 2024 which is right around when we will travel. Can I renew now or is it too early?

Edit: apparently you can start renewal the day you get it. There is no "too early." Good to know.

Lol, you must have been in line right behind us, as we too have to renew by then. Probably start the renewal soon.

It has gotten worse.

But you should also be able to go in person to get it expedited to have it quick- last renewal we got them in 2 weeks.

Had a last minute business trip and got processing in 3 days shipped at my door. They offer same day, I believe, in very select locations. Like DC, Denver, Minneapolis or Chicago, etc. You need documentation and proof of travel and justification IIRC.

I basically printed out the entire email chain switching my coworker's plan to having me go instead just in case.

At my last job I expedited travel for people who, ahem, anyway. There was a guy who had never had passport. He had to travel in two days.

We made a call.

He made his flight.

So... there are exceptions, but that was 14 years ago and I assume he still wakes up at night screaming, so I don't think it's worth it.
