As the platform party was leaving, I saw the flag for the Space Force. Can Biden close that branch down? It was such a vanity project for tRump. Or do you guys think it should stay?

I actually think it should stay. It is a legitimate need, though I'm sure everything about Dump's assumptions about it has to be scrapped.

BTW, her spanish message was about pretty much liberty of all of us- One Nation, under God, with Liberty and Justice for all. Maybe you have heard them before. Just not in Spanish.

Thanks for that. Was curious, and didn't see anyone on Twitter mention it. Figured it had to be along those lines though.

Also figured if she said it with the passion she did, it had to be important.

The poem was spectacular- and I'm not a poetry person what so ever. Wow.

As a casual fan of poetry, that was the best reading I've ever watched. It met the moment to perfection, even though I was a little irked that - who was that, Blunt? - screwed up her title in the intro.

When talking heads discussed Trump using his pardon powers, he had up until 12:00PM EST today to use it. Pres. Biden oath of office completed at 11:52AM EST today, and everybody referenced him thereon out as President Biden. Did we have roughly eight minutes of time where we had two active presidents? What's the rules there?

He has to be sworn in before his term starts at noon.

As soon as anyone finds a text, please post it, or the link to it.

I feel like I read somewhere that our future Sec of State, or someone of that stature in the Biden administration, saying they weren’t keen on rejoining the previous Iran deal. I say they meaning the Biden administration, as I’m assuming someone who serves at the pleasure of the President would be lockstep with Biden on big picture policy goals.
Wolf Blitzer cuts off his co-host to tell viewers that the person they’re seeing on screen is Lady Gaga. Mmmkay.

This. As great as the poem was, her delivery was even better.

She's like 20. Genius shows.

I watched "Praise song for the day" at Obama's inauguration and remember being just disappointed at the lack of energy and sincerity. This was a 180.

This ain't comin' from no prophet
Just an ordinary man
When I close my eyes I see, the way this world shall be
When we all walk hand in hand

When the last child cries for a crust of bread
When the last man dies for just words that he said
When there's shelter over the poorest head
We shall be free

When the last thing we notice is the color of skin
And the first thing we look for is the beauty within
When the skies and the oceans are clean again
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud
'Cause we shall be free

When we're free to love anyone we choose
When this world's big enough for all different views
When we all can worship from our own kind of pew
Then we shall be free, yeah

And when money talks for the very last time
And nobody walks a step behind
When there's only one race and that's mankind
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Have a little faith, hold out
'Cause we shall be free

Sure doesn't sound like any Republican I know.

Liner notes from The Hits (his greatest hits album): "'We Shall Be Free' is definitely and easily the most controversial song I have ever done. A song of love, a song of tolerance from someone who claims not to be a prophet but just an ordinary man. I never thought there would be any problems with this song. Sometimes the roads we take do not turn out to be the roads we envisioned them to be. All I can say about 'We Shall Be Free' is that I will stand by every line of this song as long as I live. I am very proud of it. And I am very proud of Stephanie Davis, the writer. I hope you enjoy it and see it for what it was meant to be."

But his fans who disagree with this song certainly do....

Maya Angelou was a token bone. A desperate diversity hire. WILDLY overrated, for decades.

This chick is already more of the real thing.
