Hug someone you care about...
This is exactly the idea that I've tried bringing up around here several times over the past 6-8 months.
But I get told that others see more people taking cruises so people clearly have cash to burn. Or that the blame just gets pushed onto "corporate greed" and that I need to be angry at the mega corporations. I get that, but there is also no visible solution or help available on that front. That's the issue. People just deflect the narrative of those that are feeling the pressure because it hurts THEIR narrative.
Yes, the economy is doing great. But it really is starting to feel like a bunch of people who own homes saying that homelessness isn't a problem since THEY don't see homeless people on their block. People are feeling the crunch and it very well could come back to wreck the D's ticket in 12 months unless things change and change soon.
Pretty sure even prices for groceries have been dropping. The MSM was even talking about that the other day. (and how that doesn't help Biden somehow)
I do enjoy your idea that all of us have no friends that don't own homes and we are all just sitting on our porches laughing at the whining of the unwashed masses while sipping high end scotch or something. Nevermind that I am a teacher/bartender who currently has 3 jobs just to make ends meet...what would I possibly know about how the Average Joe lives? I mean sure my 76 year old dad can't afford not to work because he lives on Social Security and my mom is unable to work due to disability issues...obviously we are just living high on the hog baby!
Or...
Maybe things aren't as bad as people think they are. Sorry but again if things are so bad and people can't afford the basic necessities why is spending up? And no I don't mean "why are they spending more dollars" because that could be argued as being due to Inflation...volume of sales is rising too! TSA is warning everyone this could be one of the most heavily travelled holiday seasons in quite some time. Black Friday and Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday were all huge boons even the Negative Nancies admit it. Sorry but that doesn't square with the "OMG WE ARE ALL BROKE!1!1" mantra I hear from some people. It isn't like the deals were that great so how exactly does that work? And it isn't just me and my rich (hah!) friends buying things either it appears to be across the board.
There are disturbing economic factors that are worthy of the gnashing of teeth and the ire of the average voter but the price of gas and groceries is not it I am sorry. You wanna whine it costs too much to own a home or buy one...trust me I got your back! Want to tell me that the Fed is screwing up every quarter with the way they deal with Inflation and interest rates I will carry you on my shoulders so you can shout it to the masses. But if you want to pretend that the price of eggs is some sort of indicator that things are worse than they seem I will kindly point you in the direction of the courts and show you proof that this crap is all because a bunch of rich corporate phucks are squeezing our teets dry. It is happening all over the place...they don't even hide it.
Look, I dont mean to sound like a pr!ck (I am quite good at it though ;^) ) but I am just tired of this. Our inflation rate is lower than most if not all of the Western World these days yet they aren't whining nearly as bad as we are. Everyone is blaming the Dems for it but no one can articulate exactly what Biden can do to fix the problem. He can't force the Fed's hand, he can't stop companies from gouging by waving his hands. And I am sorry but anyone who risks putting the GOP back in charge isn't worth the time to talk to. Blaming the Dems for what is happening is so out of touch it is mindboggling. If you have a job but aren't getting paid well enough to live how is that the fault of the Dems and not the company you work for? Some people just dont see the forest from the trees.
