Daycare is utterly insane. More expensive than most land grant out of state costs.

Was talking to a coworker who knew someone who had twins. $50k. Per year.

$50k/yr is a very expensive daycare, even for two infants (prices drop as they GE due to lower child-to-caregiver ratios). I was paying $355/week ($18,460/yr) until last month for my 3yo daughter, and that was pretty average around here. Now I’m getting stupid cheap pre-school, and it’s still around $12k.

Children are very expensive and they change your life. I won’t persuade anybody one way or another. I was 42 when my daughter was born. At 39, when I was still single, I had written off children as simply not for me. She has changed my life, bringing me great amounts of love, joy, fear and frustration. And then there’s the huge expenses.

With the developments over the past few years, with Roe being stripped, the fear for things not yet seen have grown immensely, the miasma as to what her safety from attackers and the law will be once she starts exploring all aspects of life independent of her parents compounds it all the more.

Side note, remember the Conservative President 2025 Plan that was linked around here, and Slap Shot and I were discussing. Apparently, buried within the 900 odd pages was discussion of the family values. And this Conservative Manifesto states that the new GOP President should declare that marriage is between one man and one woman, and virtually all divorice outlawed for the "sanctity of the family."

Meaning if Cletus gives Sarah Jo a black eye every two weeks and gets a court ordered restraining order and divorices him, they would be forced back together.

Also, they admit they're not going full Handmaid's Tale, because surrogacy would also be eliminated because the child should be with their biological parents.

It's really ****ing dark and disgusting what's being proposed if any Conservative becomes President.

On that note, SD governor Kristi Noem has been long-time banging loser Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski.

I found this mornings news show I watched very interesting. On, Hunter, they had a 21 year federal prosecutor explaining that no one he knows or himself has ever brought charges against anyone on the statutes that Hunter Biden is charged with.

It was reported a Federal Judge indicated that the case brought against Hunter Biden would never land anyone in jail, or go to trial, or anything even remotely like that.

Then there is the Megyn Kelly interview of Trump where it's the same ****ing interview all over again. Kirsten Welker better be different. Oh, and it was also reported that unlike Hunter Biden who seems to be getting prosecuted for something that never gets prosecuted everything that Trump is charged with gets prosecuted all the ****ing time. Doesn't matter what party affiliation is involved in either of them either.

And then, the cherry on the ****ing sundae. There is a new report (poll) whatever out that indicates that women are deciding altogether after Dobbs just not to have children. Why? Cause it's too ****ing dangerous. And this is happening in ALL states, not just red. And OBGYN's are becoming extremely scarce everywhere in the United States which is only going to exacerbate the problem.

Congratulations America.

I didn't watch the interview or even clips...but man the legal experts were destroying him and his lawyers for letting him do it.
