Here’s the thing about layering money transfers via wire, check, etc. - all methods other then cash - it’s really hard not to be noticed. The BSA-AML functions of the PATRIOT Act require all financial institutions to track every transaction. They keep these records for a period of time, and have to provide them to the Feds immediately. They know who sent it, the account receiving it, the amount, date, and if someone had chocolate on their fingers when entering the request. And the investigations are not permitted to be disclosed to the public. For all anybody here knows, these GOTCHA BIDEN wires might’ve been looked at by 100 agents over the course of 1,000 requests. But let’s not let the facts of how the American financial system works.
