Even if they avoid calling Senators...Dances With Karens (QAnon Shaman Guy) said he will testify that he did it cause Trump told him to as have others. That is what Lindsay wants to avoid because even though it won't move the needle in the trial most likely that will definitely play with the people watching and will have a negative effect. (yes I know most GOPers will stand firm but the middle and the Left will be gone and the non-Trumpers as well)

In fact it will kind of reverse the problem of the last Impeachment Trial. In that one it was the Dems that need to explain the web of things that happened. There was no clear cut A+B=C for the average person. That is why it never really hit like it should have and there wasn't a groundswell and the GOP basically could just attack the perceived holes in the arguments since connections were sometimes fleeting or implied. In this case you would have literal Insurrections under oath connecting all of the dots (Trump said this so we did this) so it would be on the GOP to come up with convoluted ways to explain why none of that matters. In the first one they had the simplistic answer, in this one the Dems have it.

Lady G is a lawyer (though I question how good because his arguments are crap) he knows they don't want to be the ones that seem to be scrambling. You want to be able to say "this happened because of this" not "well that may have been a factor but there are other factors and in truth we will never know if any of this matters...yada yada yada". You especially don't want to do that when there is hours and hours of footage of Trump since November inflaming everyone and people knowingly lying plus footage of the actual act of Insurrection just minutes after Trump spoke.

On Twitter someone suggested that the Dems should play the entire day on video. Start with the rally and put up a clock to show the time. Have it play out all the way until Trump makes his little video at the end of the Insurrection. Destroy the argument he had nothing to do with it by showing minute by minute in real time how he not only riled them up and told them to head to the Capitol but never told them to stop until it was too late. Make the entire chamber watch as he did nothing while people came to get them. (I would throw in the picture of Hawley and his Fist in the air at the beginning to prove a point)

I suspect his team will use unconstitutionality as his primary defense but also argue that he did not incite. Whether the dems play a video of the speech or not, they will argue that dump never instructed them to harm any person, to destroy any property or to break any laws. As to that part of their defense, they will make political speech the ward that needs protecting. They can try to make the two defenses support each other by arguing that the radical left is using unconstitutional measures to suppress political speech it does not want to hear. And it must be all about the message, since they are not trying to remove him from office.
 
I saw something one of the new lawyers said and it is mostly on those grounds. Ignoring of course this is mostly political theater when it comes to the outcome I don't think that argument will work for most of the people watching. It is just too easy to connect the dots and even if they argue he never said to attack (though he definitely said use strength and made it seem things were being stolen as justification) his inaction during is what people will cling to the most. If this was not his wanted outcome he would have tweeted right away "STOP THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER!!" and kept tweeting until it calmed down. His own inner circle was begging him to do that in real time and I believe even people on Faux were denigrating him for not doing it. (I may be misremembering I watched a lot of networks that day) Even when he finally did it was half assed and he still was justifying the action. He makes it LOOK like this was his wanted outcome...and sources told CNN that day for sure he was almost giddy watching it. That plays more with people than whether or not the precedent of removal after he left office is legit or not.

The other problem they will have is the video of people saying "we are hear because of Trump". Again that won't matter to Senators but it plays with the average people. Even defenders of him I know think that is rather damning. Even if it isnt, it looks like a smoking a gun to the Average Joe. That is why certain networks played that clip on a loop...
 
Years ago, I bought a couple My Pillows, and ever since, I get email offers from them pretty much every week, often two or three times a week. The email app I'm using doesn't allow me to block senders, so for the past few weeks, every time I get one, I reply(surprised that I'm even able to reply to them) something along the lines of "Fuck you, Mike Lindell, you Nazi traitor."

Haven't had a My Pillow offer for a week or so now.

Every clip I see looks like a bad Zoom chat. I have seen IG Live shows that are better and that is made on your friggin phone!

I wonder if they will have Lin Wood on to talk about voter fraud ;^)
 
That really is remarkable. For 3 months we've been hearing "we're going to release our evidence <some time in the future>", only for it not to be released.

Who still believes this garbage?

It’s an offshoot of the group that gave us roughly 104 periods of “I’ll have it in two weeks” for healthcare and like 30 infrastructure weeks that saw no infrastructure improvements.
