The degree of electoral malfeasance by a sitting Republican administration is always bad, but with Dump it will be on the level of an African dictatorship. And the GOP voters will say nothing, or actively cheer it.

The right will never be ready for freedom. They are always the desperately willing slaves of a strongman or a lord. We have to beat them to save democracy, just as all liberals have had to in all ages and all countries. It's always the same story.

I put this in the Cofefe... urrgghh!... the Covid thread, but it probably belongs here as well in light of 'twit-heads' rants this morning. Cuomo was made-aware of Orange Droolius' tweets while watching his presser, and Cuomo responded with a complete and total smack-down on the 'twit-head'.

He's better than us. My favorite part is that he's simply refusing to engage with him. Even put out a message prior to the protest outside his house that essentially said, "That's fine, just please practice safe social distancing while doing so." He's great.

I agree this is the right method. Well-meaning people can disagree on the velocity of both closing and opening things, but this is the right framework.

One would have hoped it was obvious, but that is pre-2016 thinking. :(

Attempting to justify a sentence of death, the presiding judge in the trials of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg noted that their espionage had then already helped lead to 50,000 casualties in the Korean War. The evidence of trump's complicity in causing 1000s of more deaths from coronavirus than were otherwise going to happen is clear, and in the coming months as more and more study is done will become even clearer. If the Rosenberg's actions were worthy of a couple of prime seats in Sing Sing's electric chair, trump's surely are too. He is not just proving to be a bad and dangerous president, he is a criminal worthy of the harshest punishment our society dishes out to mass murderers.

Now do Bush/Cheney (Iraq 2), plus Nixon and LBJ (Vietnam). Are we gonna add up how many Iraqi and Vietnamese civilians, and American soliders died in those unnecessary wars?

We don't execute former leaders. That is what banana republics, Stalinist satellites, and third world African countries do.
