Yeah but 37% overall. He is going to need every Republican in 4 years (just like he did last November) to have a chance. (cause all those "Well Trump is Different" voters are done with him) Considering how many Republicans he has screwed over since January I dont see that happening so the Dems need to just not run Hillary.

For a while, but if they're not home for Christmas it goes south in a hurry. Anyway, if Trumpy launches a Wag the Dog War what are his choices?

North Korea? Good luck getting China to sign off on that. And without China signing off it risks WW3 and we get Dealey Plaza.

OK, Iran? That might be the one war the US could start where the President wouldn't get any War Fever Boner at all. Coming on the heels of the Iraq disaster, and fighting a real army rather than a paper one, spells desert quagmire (quicksand?).

Iraq, again? History repeats first as tragedy and then as farce. What comes after farce? The Brits probably can tell us after a century of The Great Game.

Syria? I wouldn't put it past Donald to land an army just after the Kurds and the Russians have taken care of the problem, fly in for a Mission Accomplished photo op, and be back in Florida by nightfall. But the idea of using a war to deflect attention from the misery at home does require some time to root for Our Brave Boys in the field, so that doesn't really help. Plus, you know, urban guerrilla clean up worked so well in Baghdad.

Pakistan? Yes, we're going to attack a nuclear power that borders India and China.

How about somebody we can take without exposing all our expensive hardware as crap? Venezuela? We could take the oil, half the locals hate the existing government, and South Americans can't fight for sh-t. Honestly not a bad choice, though I'm sure Brazil would love the millions of refugees it would generate.

For him to lose Democrats will have to get off their *** and vote. Quite frankly he's no more dangerous now then he was in October. We'll see if by 2020 there is something compelling for Democrats.

But in 2016 he could run on promises and his Image. In 2020 he'll have done nothing and even some Republicans will have sussed out that he's a con man.

The Dems just need a nominee who isn't Beltway Corruption Incarnate. Throw one of our lukewarm liberals up there -- Booker or Castro or Harris -- and we should be fine. Just stay away from the obvious landmines: anybody who reeks of the old order of Clinton, Pelosi, Reid. And get Obama out on the campaign trail to remind people what a president looks like and sounds like. Let Trump fall into the obvious trap of screaming at Barack while the nominee has open field.

Maybe, but I am willing to stand by the statement that the people who cast their vote with the idea in mind that they would not accept any woman as president simply because of her gender ARE Republicans. That idea is inextricably linked with religious fundamentalism, and if there are fundamentalist Christians Democrats still around they sho' are being quiet about it.

Hmm. Except for one group: there are black Christian fundies who are Democrats because, well, because they may be crazy but they're not CRAZY. So I accept the correction. I will reduce my 100% to 90%.
