But, I do live in the city and it seems like everyone I work with and most people I know are Trumpers.

I'm hoping that the current Dem Reps hold and they flip another one to be honest.

My anecdotal experience with Flyovers is they do not like a ruckus. It is possible that the Great Spirit of solid Midwestern common sense will rouse itself, regard Dump's "every day a new tweet tantrum" insanity and general lack of decorum and, regardless of partisanship, say "Enough. I want to go back to sleep" and hit the purge button?

So, I posted yesterday about how I didn't get why Trump was backing off the "Send Her Back" chant. I did hear this morning that apparently some of the Republicans on the Hill contacted Pence and were upset about it. So, maybe that's why, although he seems to be doubling down today.

Anyway, I'm not seeing any backing down from his minions (voters). They're all still full bore.

I heard a story this a.m. that the GOP muckety mucks basically took Pence by the keister and threw him at Dump and told him if he didn't walk it back they were all going lose in 2020. It's second nature for Dump to lie and for his followers we have always been at war with Eastasia so it was no biggie for him.

Minnesota will not go for Trump in 2020. Not unless there is some sort of horrible October surprise from the Democratic candidate, and I mean it would have to be horrible.

Not so much thinking of MN. I mean if MN is in play we're all f-cked. I was thinking of formerly sensible and sane places that have slipped into the darkness recently: Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan.

I'm very hopeful that Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Mexico all come back, and we land Georgia as well. I understand we're fighting not just
stupidity and racism but also voter suppression and, in states with GOP state houses and governors, systemic election fraud.

Well, although I don't think it is in play necessarily I do find it fascinating that there is an article or an op ed or commentary in the paper where the State GOP is talking like it is in play. And in those articles or op-eds or commentaries they are very "rosy" about their chances in Minnesota. And then you see the President's tweet this morning and he thinks it's in play.

So, either, they feel that writing all this stuff and telling reporters that they think Minnesota is winnable is in their best interests, or they really believe it.

Not sure which.

Meanwhile, out in California, the GOP has completely checked out. You know. The State that didn't vote for Mondale.

Good post, but the Square-One culprit in terms of disseminating disinformation is Big Tech, eg. Facebook and Google. They are upstream from the news outlets, but we all know which way excrement flows.

Those platforms have no financial incentive to filter ads/content via actual accuracy, and people eat that sh** up like beans and cornbread every single day. This is where is starts: the targeting of the BS. And Big Tech gets paid in any case.

I'm a political Independent, and pretty-much a free market guy, but -even so- I'm appalled by what sort of propaganda they allow their corporate whores to attempt to cram down our throats. This crap needs to be regulated, somehow, even if the wheezy old Republican dinosaurs who run this country don't know the first thing about what they're dealing with. (The Zuckerberg hearing would've been funny, if it wasn't so alarming at it's core. Hatch might be even be more ignorant than tRump.)

Scary times. Nero, break out your fiddle if the Orangutan gets re-elected.

I can't help you there. Even in the best of times people from the Dakotas and Minnesota rarely look upon anyone from Wisconsin or Iowa as being sensible or sane.
