She never called them Nazi's. She called the facilities concentration camps, which is not solely a Nazi Germany thing (See: Japenese Interment Camps in the US, or work camps during the depression in the US.)

I'm sure he thought he was really owning that lib.

There's a guy at my work who changes into his "Trump 2020: F-ck Your Feelings" t-shirt at the end of the day in the parking lot.

He's a nice guy at work, too.

They think this behavior is "just telling it like it is." Like adolescents thinking they're daring when they curse at their Mom. An entire political party of the emotionally immature. And boy did they find their king.

Has NPR triggered the MAGA crowd yet by Tweeting out the Declaration of Independence? What an annual tradition.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Trump’s hijacking of the Fourth of July just got a lot uglier

Trump campaigned on the false story of an America in steep decline. He embellished this story with endless lies and demagoguery about immigrants, and about how international engagement supposedly resulted in foreign leaders "laughing at" and "humiliating" us.

Reading this, two things dawned on me: One, the author is, of course, completely accurate in his column. And two: What does it matter?
All of this is just preaching to the choir, and virtually no minds have been changed about trump since the day he won the election. Those are the overwhelming truths that I have taken away from these last 32 months.

It doesn't matter what you say to a trump supporter. It does not matter how well reasoned the argument is. It doesn't matter if you deliver it in a manner that lacks passion entirely, or has the passion of Mussolini on crack. It doesn't matter if it comes in the form of respectful pleasant dialogue, or if it is read in a column from a newspaper in an overwhelmingly white, conservative state or it is heard on any tv news program. Nothing will get through to a trump supporter that rivals what their master has to say. No story. No piece of evidence. No indisputable fact. They will dismiss it as just another piece of fake news, and await the next tweet from their master with bated breath so they know who to hate, or who to blame.

We can survive as a nation if 10, 15 or maybe even 25% of the population is made in the image of the trump supporter as I believe them to exist. Maybe even eventually see their stupidity kill them off to the extent they serve only as a cautionary reminder that that is what hatred, scapegoating and stupidity turn you into. But we will never thrive if they make up 25%. And I suspect they make up a lot more of our population than just 25%. Maybe not half. And maybe not more than 25%. But even if it is a number that small, look at the harm being caused by such a "minor" subset of society.

This terrifies me and makes me wonder what more I or any of us can do to make the world a truly better place. I suppose continue with our little corner of it and hope others do the same thing.

Well said, however I think today's numbers are clear on MAGAs and non-MAGAs. I don't think they will change much over the next few years.

I mentioned to some friends a couple weeks ago, that the one "good" thing about the Trump presidency is that we all found out where everyone stands on just about every issue. No more "I wonder if s/he's racist/bigoted/anti-this/anti-that, etc." He made it ok to say whatever the hell you want, with no shame.

Edit: Now we all know where everyone stands, and can act accordingly, and choose to associate with them or not.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

“I’m gay, and I support Trump,” explained Brian Talbert, 49, of Charlotte. Asked why he backs the president given his awful record on LGBTQ rights, he said Trump has done more for the LGBTQ community than any Democratic president. (This is very false.)

“I just explain the facts,” Talbert said. “Trump is the first president in history to accept gay marriage on day one.” (That is true, except Trump is also the first guy to become president after same-sex marriage was legalized. So, yeah.)

Stupid doesnt begin to describe these people.

"Think globally, act locally." Vote straight Democratic to remove the fascists from office. Closer to home, volunteer to work on campaigns, volunteer to help demonized groups, protect people when MAGAs harass and threaten them in public, stand up, show support. These are bullies being used by the rich to sow discord so they can steal anything not nailed down. That is the story of the Republican party for the last 40 years.

So... thwart them. Get in their way. Talk back when they lie. Sabotage them. Save people from them. We are 67% of this nation. We have all the intelligence, education, bravery, and morality. All they have is shock, fear, and billionaires funding them as a diversion.

It's no contest. Band together, stop picking on each other, contain them in their self-selected reservations. They will die out as an evolutionarily failed line on the cultural Darwinian tree. Stick together. It's a bug hunt.

Seems to me that one thing Trump does repeatedly is shame those who disagree with him for any reason. They are liars, criminals, losers, failures, dumb, failed businessmen, failed actors . . . the list goes on. He abhors a media that reports facts or opinions not in line with his and is doing all he can to undermine open dialogue.

I realize you may be saying that people are so oppositional that they say anything and everything and that he's had a hand it that, but I'm not sure that he has had anything to do with being free to speak out without shame.

WHAT A DUMAZZ IDEA RUBE!!!! :D
