POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

What the people owe the country is to inundate the Democratic party, sweep the Pelosis and Schumers from power, build a staunchly egalitarian platform. Then inundate the polls, sweep the GOP from power, and enact that platform.

It's not rocket science. We did it once before in 1932. Democracy gives us the power to claw back every inch of ground and every cent the rich stole from this country since 1980, in one jump.

I don't expect the Democratic party to become self-aware by itself and start fighting for the many. Like any political party it's a machine designed to benefit the people who run it and pay for it, and the people who run it and pay for it are friends with Chuck Todd and Joe Biden. They don't want systemic change. Everyone they care about, family members and friends, has a nice house in Alexandria and sends their young children to private school and their older children to the Ivies, who then get jobs in finance or media or politics perpetuating the same system for their children. And these are good people. Chelsea Clinton is a good person. But as much as she wants social change it's not an emergency for her. She's not going to give her house to the homeless.

I'm not going to give my house to the homeless.

The people who would need to take this party from us. In a sane world, I would be a conservative, fighting to keep balance and prevent the chaos of changes happening too quickly. My highly educated, well-scrubbed, white as-s should not be on the left, and any country where I am on the far left is one that has gone so far right it can barely even stay on the road.

The people that would dont have the stones to do it. Plus they are too busy going on twitter attacking someone because they played "Smear the *****" in Middle School in the 1990s. Maybe if the Democrats wanted to decide the nomination via a game of dodgeball they would care enough to fight  ;)

Y'all are right. Kevin Kruse is a goddammed National Treasure.

Kruse is a great follow on Twitter to be sure!

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

I can see how to Trump supporters the person in charge actually knowing what is going on can seem like a foreign idea.

Remember things like this when you choose not to vote. (especially those doing so trying to stop the Forever War)

He already failed the test. All he will do in testimony is read from his own report. He failed us. Time for everyone to get over it and move on.

Why are you depending on the Daddy Figure to save you? He gave you everything needed for justice to be done. That our elected representatives are choosing not to do their Constitutionally defined duty is not his fault, nor is it his job to do it for them.

They dont owe the Party a vote...they can choose to stay home if they want to that is their right. But they dont get to pretend they have a conscious and principal and whine about how bad things are if they choose not to participate. Even worse, if they know their choice to not participate will lead to exactly what we have now. (and they did)

It doesnt matter if you are right if you lose. You can get on your high horse and talk about the greatness of liberalism but its greatness is lost when even its own people cant be bothered to fight for it.

This isnt a Political Philosophy Class...choices have consequences. 50 years from now (assuming the world hasnt burned up) people are going to wonder why it is the Liberals had all the right answers yet made all the wrong choices. Things like what you just posted will be frowned upon by future trix's because they make zero logical sense.

Morally yes you are 100% correct and I applaud those very things but we live in an amoral world where people take advantage of any and all weakness and Liberals need to act accordingly. In this competition there is no silver medal for second place. If your enemy is willing to kill you you need to be willing to do the same or you have lost before the game starts.

So no, no one owes the Democratic Party anything. They do owe the citizens of this country (the ones they say they care about) better than they give when they stay home and let the likes of Dubya or Trump win...to deny that is to ignore what this country and our elections is all about. And yes that includes me...I was completely wrong when I did it.

Just who is this "they" that you're whining about?

Well, let's see.

Senate - Controlled by Trump.
DOJ - Controlled by Trump. (Comey and Sessions firing took care of that).
House of Rep - In Democrats control BUT too many centrists were elected to bring it over the top and they are (many of them) in districts where they could easily be ousted.
FOX News - Full Bore propaganda machine for the GOP.

Exactly what power structure did you think was going to get this done? As the GOP is proving, having control of the House is meaningless if you hold Presidential and Senate power and still have all the propaganda out in the ether.

If you think bringing articles of impeachment is going to save anything or get any subpoena's honored your kidding yourself.

With lawyers out there screaming Article II, and a DOJ policy that places the President above the law there's nothing that can be done. Except, a conclusion from the Special Counsel. That is what was needed. And since he concluded NOTHING. And he started sidebar investigations that Barr has destroyed. He failed his job. Even Barr said he was supposed to conclude something. And since Mueller did not, Barr was closing the case.

To play the game you gotta play the game. Even if the game is rigged.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Mueller followed the law.
It's not his fault you don't like the outcome.
Congress has to do its job now.

Not according to Barr he didn't. Which I highlighted.

Congress won't do it's job. It can't do it's job.

Barr lied...there's a shock..
And if Congress won't do its job...then vote them out.

Still not Mueller's fault.

Uh, huh.

I hope when he's sitting back watching the carnage that he's created he can live with himself. I know I couldn't. He was the ONE PERSON with power in this process that was not connected or hamstrung by politics. You can say he's not to blame all you want. That's why he was hired. Effectively he has destroyed the office of special counsel to the degree that it is worthless. Ken Starr wasn't this much of a *****.

He's to blame.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Grandpa called into FOX Business this morning, and Maria Bartiromo could hardly get a word in edgeways.

The Cliff Notes Twitter thread.

Hey, does any of this sound like how our past well grounded Presidents have spoken? So glad y'all didn't want a bleeding c*** in charge because she could be emotionally unstable.

You are blaming the guy for following the law...think about that for a second.
You really do live in the world of adolescent tantrum.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Of note from the FOX Biz phone call:
TRUMP: "Europe treats us worse than China. Europe is -- you know, look, I come from Europe ... European nations were set up to take advantage of the United States." https://t.co/2FSQbGhkh5
After spending roughly 30 minutes attacking China, Trump now says Vietnam is "almost the single worst abuser of everybody" and indicates he's considering tariffs on Vietnamese goods as well. https://t.co/X5NsaVxd3E
Trump is yelling into the phone about how Mueller "terminated the emails ... he terminated them. They're gone. And that's illegal. That's a crime."

Bartiromo pretends to know what he's talking about and tries to ask a question. Trump just keeps ranting over her. https://t.co/yBK676eGmn
Trump indicates he doesn't support legislation to provide funding for border facilities so children aren't living in squalor because "there's no money for protection." https://t.co/fAf5DCMmJr

Well said, all of it. But the problem we have is there's segment of the Dem coalition that likes to lose. Its familiar and comforting to them. Then they can bleat on about how "NOBODY UNDERSTANDS!!!" and "EVERYBODY'S A CORPORATE SELLOUT!!!" Kep, rufus, and Scooby wouldn't know what to do if their candidate won, so they'll pick the most extreme choice, and in the miracle of that person actually winning, they'd immediately have a rant posted about how that candidate let them down about 5 minutes after the inauguration! People who look for a way to lose will often get what they wish. Its an easy to accomplish self fulfilling prophecy that they blanket themselves in for whatever reason. However in the final analysis the choice is clear. Either vote Dem from Prez down to dogcatcher no matter who the nominee is, or consent to be governed by Nazis. Anyone too stupid to understand that and I'm surprised their brain functions enough to tell their lungs to breathe. :D

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

I don't expect a bombshell from any Mueller testimony, but I believe he will be less constrained with his testimony as it's a completely different vessel than what he was tasked with summarizing in his report.

Re: POTUS 45:54: My Polls Are Better Than Your Polls

Answering questions changes what constitutes a truthful and honorable representation of the facts. If Mueller had stood up unbidden and talked about Dump engaging in highly suspicious behavior, that would be choosing to privilege certain facts over others and thus editorializing. But Mueller answering specific questions about specific facts, well, that's just him giving truthful testimony.

This distinction may not matter to some but it seems to matter a lot to Mueller, and that's probably a good characteristic of an investigator. An investigator is not a prosecutor

You shouldn't say "Captain Queeg is crazy." You should give the exact details of what Queeg did about the strawberries. And then the court (Congress) pursues its action.

I think hitherto that's all Mueller has asked.
