Rufus - take a glass of milk and a breather. The precedent was set with Clinton. Lying under oath was not deemed to be "high crimes and misdemeanors."

It was obvious from the start there were not sufficient votes to convict. It cost the GOP the House and two speakers their careers.

There is no comparison between Clinton and Dump's malfeasance.

It blows me away that a conscientious conservative would permit such a pernicious, anti-American stain to be in the White House just for short term political benefit.

There has to be some sort of accountability or Dumps will keep happening and some of them will be smart and not inept. This. Serious prison times for those involved with the deaths of children in camps, and punishment for those who carried out these orders. Maybe no one will want to charge Trump personally for things he ordered because going after former Presidents terrifies politicians, but his family and financial empire is fair game.

Lying under oath is something countless people on both sides of the aisle have done forever (this doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing but probably isn't an impeachable offense either). It's also not nearly as bad as obstructing an investigation into yourself or getting 100's of thousands of people killed in an illegal war.

Most people understand that lying under oath is extremely serious, but lying about a blow job and the manner in which trump is alleged to have obstructed justice are two very different things--something I think most people who are not desperate to protect him would also understand.

Please don't go because here and there people say obnoxious things. Point them out and we'll apologize, or not, and then you can put us individually on Ignore, or not. We need contrarian voices and right now there is no harder thing than to be an apologist for the American right, which is roughly equivalent to being a marketing agent for Pol Pot ("I mean... he's thorough."). Just understand that there are going to be consequences for certain opinions. You can't say "look, all I said is Hitler might have some good ideas" and then get huffy if people start pointing out the death camps.

You can't be offended by a fact. I think Dump's a traitor and a tin pot dictator with delusions of godhood. You don't? Great -- debate it. Or tell me I'm hysterical and then don't debate it, which is a little suspect but still.

I do think you should be ashamed for supporting the GOP because of what they have metastasized into. I find your response, which is an accusation of hyperbole, unconvincing, but again if you have specific counterpoints let's hear them. Example: I contend Dump actively colluded with the Russians to steal the Presidency. My evidence is all we know about the Dump Tower meeting and the various exchanges radiating out from it, and as importantly the Dumps scrambling to hide and obstruct the investigation. You have a different narrative of those events? Let's hear it! I'd love to not believe the President of the United States is a foreign agent, witting or witless.

So good of Bob to speak today...weeks after Barr misrepresented him...to basically say "well we didnt NOT say he committed a crime!". Thanks Bob...that is about as valuable as when the paper prints a retraction on page 12 about an article that was top of the fold. Nothing stopped you from saying this the day Barr screwed you over but you dithered around and Trump and his cronies have been spreading the lie like wildfire.

Congress needs to subpoena him tomorrow.
