Re: POTUS 45:53: I Didn't Appoint That Judge So It Doesn't Matter.

I reject your idea that voting for a third party candidate is useless. Why do you claim that? Because they have "no chance?"

If that's your argument, then voting for a Republican for President while a resident of California, or voting for a Democrat for President while a resident of North Dakota is also "useless."

Furthermore, if your thinking is correct, we can never have a viable third party since no one can vote for them until they have a enough support to win.

Was it useless to vote for the third party candidate for governor in Minnesota 20 years ago?

Voting for a third party in a national election that uses the Electoral College for President is idiocy. Even if you accidently win a state or two and keep someone from hitting 270, the House picks the winner, and your third party never bothered to run any House members for office.

Running for Governor is rarely achievable. The White House will never be.

Well, I wish the Republicans luck getting one through if the Dems ever control the Senate and they have the Presidency. I don't think it will happen. As for precedent you did not catch the caveat. The Republicans set it, the Democrats follow it. So, I'm not saying here that Republicans will hold anything. I'm saying the Democrats will.

There's no faith involved.

So, when do the Dems control the Senate?

Until they do, all your talk of precedent is worthless. Just the whining and moaning of Democrats who won't, and can't, do anything to stop them from doing whatever they want.

Tell me, what horrible price is Bill Barr paying for being in contempt of Congress. He in jail yet? Compelled to testify? What?

It's not useless. It helps elect the opponent of the major party candidate you would have voted for.

Yes. There's a reason there have been only 2 major parties since 1854.

The way you break control of the two party system is to take over one of the parties. That's how the Nazis did it with the GOP.

And the HoR elects by States. California and Wyoming have exactly the same number of votes - 1.

Bill Barr will pay no price as long as the Supreme Court, Presidency, and Senate are under Republican control and the people are under Dump's spell. Not sure what you're getting at. This is not a surprise. It has been happening since 1980 and it's not likely to change any time soon.

The Founders designed a system to withstand a tyrant. They did not design a system to withstand a tyrannical party.

Then warned against "faction" for a reason. Dump by himself gets nowhere. Dump with the GOP behind him is transforming America into a dictatorship.

Not necessarily. In The Rube's case, its so he can play high and mighty by claiming he didn't vote for Trump, while at the same time, not doing anything to actually affect a situation he claims to deplore.

You know, the Centrist position.

Exactly. Reagan laid the foundation. They played the long game for 40 years and now they are reaping their rewards.

Cue a tweet storm.

“Breaking news: Special counsel Robert Mueller will make a public statement at 11 a.m. on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. It'll mark the first time he has spoken publicly following the release of his report.”

Re: POTUS 45:53: I Didn't Appoint That Judge So It Doesn't Matter.

Prove me.

Trump and Bernie win their party nominations. Who do you vote for? Knowing a third party vote is useless.

He stays home and doesn't vote, because that wouldn't violate his "principles", since he thinks Bernie is just as bad as Trump. He may be given the way he rambles on and on without proposing actual solutions, but we don't know that yet.

I have here signed memorandum from Bob Alexander proving...

It does? That's interesting. I voted third party in 2016 in Minnesota, a state won by HRC.

Here's the way I view it. I equate it to instances where I have served on governing boards, since that's really what voting is, an opportunity to govern. If you want to try to get an agenda accomplished, you're going to have to be willing to join with others in forming a majority. Some (or maybe all) of the members of that group won't be 100% happy with their position, since they won't get everything they want. That's basically what it means to join in with a political party.

But there were times on a board where I elected not to join that group. I think a voice or vote in opposition, even though "useless" in the sense that it won't achieve a tangible net result, is still acceptable, and I'd argue necessary in our form of government.

Mueller to talk. My guess is it doesn't move the football in either direction.

I guess you never know. He may want to say something unequivocal that Dump can't lie about (which Dump will then immediately lie about).

Re: POTUS 45:53: I Didn't Appoint That Judge So It Doesn't Matter.

Without stating as much, he basically said "Yeah, he pretty much obstructed, anyone with a brain can see that."

Also, he sounds and looks much older than the last time we heard from him (which was several, several years ago).

Re: POTUS 45:53: I Didn't Appoint That Judge So It Doesn't Matter.

He has no reason to question the good faith of the Attorney General. GTFO.

A worthless statement as I expected. Football stayed exactly where it was. If anything he carried water for the President.
