I'm glad you said this. I had Dr. Mrs. turn the show off this weekend because I just can't find anything in our current situation to laugh about anymore. Then I went out to dinner with friends who are ICE lawyers. They talked about how the people fired the last 2 weeks were fired because they wouldn't just break the law -- the administration now isn't even considering the law, they're just doing what they want and figuring they'll fight it out in the courts. These friends are Republicans who believed in their job separating families, and now it's gone too far even for them.
I'm not sure if the country really realizes the magnitude of the change in the administration since the midterms. They were always stupid and cruel, but now they're stupid, cruel, energized, and confident. Dump has put a ton of people into positions of power who actually agree with people like Stephen Miller and John Bolton. They don't care about the law. At all.
The Executive Branch is becoming a rogue state. Dump and his cronies always were but there was still an enormous mountain of law and principle standing between them and execution of policy. But that latter has slowly eroded by intimidation, depression, or just time, and the GOP F-ckwit machine has an infinite number of William Barr types just waiting to be plopped into position to be the enablers of the Dumpies.
