Not only is it a cowardly approach, but how does a person get to a place psychologically where they have to claim, "it's the best" no matter what they're talking about:

Here is my defense...you are a moron. What I think and what the the people divided over the two candidates think are two different things. (Like how you cheer for two different teams because neither one is particularly great)

The Progressive Dems wanted Ellison because they think Castro is Centrist. I am not a Dem (so I have a different opinion than they do) so it doesnt effect me anyways. (I literally said I think he is fine) My opinion is not in league with theirs because unlike you I actually think for myself.

Now please Foxton Jr., stop the bit your righteous indignation and complete lack of comprehension is starting to annoy everyone. Maybe it is your goal to be the Left version of Bob...and if so congrats you are doing a bang up job. But the rest of us in the real world are actually trying to have a discussion.

I can't find the Buffalo one; allegedly (per Wiki) the Sabres used it as a goal song and replaced "Charles" with "Niagara River" and Boston with, you guessed it.

I distinctly remember a NYC cover ("Down by the banks of the Hudson River (beat)") but have no idea which little numbnuts 80s NY band did it.

I suspect the song has been done for EVERY possible river/city combination in history.

Look, I get the issues the Dems face. There may be more passion on the left but if they're going to pick up their ball and go home before election day if they don't get 100% of what they want they've rendered themselves useless. Anybody with a toddler (or 2) knows that if you keep giving into tantrums your problems are only going to get worse. :eek: Likewise, while the temptation may be to just give them what they want and call it a day, the less vocal but perhaps more reliable Dem moderates might bail if lefty proposals like "3 generations following anybody who worked for a bank get sent to a gulag" make it into the party platform.

Its a balancing act. Fear over Trump might unite everyone next go-around, but follow the Gooper lead, where people become absolutists AFTER they win the election, not before. :D

I think the Progressives would be stupid to play the same game they did when Hillary won. Castro may not be a full on Socialist but I think he knows how to play the game and realizes why they lost. I dont foresee him and Ellison being at odds much so it will work out...especially since Ellison stays in Congress then. (hence: win/win)

The Progressives should change the agenda from the bottom up. If they want it shifted farther left they need to do it as part of a coalition, not by drawing a line in the sand.

This is overstating it. Castro tarnished his liberal cred a little by taking Goldman money, but that basically just makes him an off-brand Cory Booker. Short of Chuck Schumer running (ha!), we aren't going to ever have another nominee perceived (rightly or otherwise) as being more in the tank with the banksters than Hillary, so that isn't going to be an issue.

In any case, the next nomination is going to be about ripping P-ssachu's arms off and beating him to death with the bloody stumps, so the ideological litmus test of the nominee is going to be "does he or she currently have either Koch brother's dick in his / her mouth?"

The White House Office of Management and Budget has proposed cuts of 37 percent at two agencies that provide U.S. foreign aid, according to two people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified because the figure hasn’t been publicly disclosed. The State Department requested more than $50 billion in its 2017 budget.

That is the way to prevent further BANGHAZIS!!1!! cut the budget to State...what could possibly go wrong?

Less money to State Department...more money to Defense...hmmm looks like my prediction is coming true. Trump knows GOPers only get re-elected these days when there is a War...well best way to get one is to beef up the military and defund Diplomacy.
