That appears to be the case and is entirely plausible.
Called it. That was *exactly* how Cohen explained it, and Jim Jordan sounded smug in his misunderstanding of it.

Someone who doesnt understand that Cohen has to slice through "FBI Evidence - Do No Open" tape to look through the boxes that the FBI *returned* to him.
According to Jim Jordan, it's all a Clinton conspiracy because Cohen hired Lanny Davis.
Republicans in 1974 had lived through World War II and possessed some amount of love of country. Current Republicans grew up thinking Nixon was wronged and have lived in the Fox News/right wing media bubble for decades.
Why is that so hard to discern. I would really think the GOP would have more than what Meadows, and Jordan have cobbled together with their band of idiots.
Because *that* ignorant question now becomes the new "missing 30k emails."
I've been able to listen to a decent portion of the testimony on XM POTUS 124, and ... I feel like Cohen is like that new Pop singer of a catchy song but you find out that before this smash hit he quietly wrote a decade worth of pop hits others made famous you also like.
It seems like Cohen is just confirming "yep, this story was true. That story was true. Bits of that rumor are true."
It just feels like a "Greatest Hits of Sh*t We Already Knew About Trump."
Fox News was created specifically so that if another Nixon came about, he'd have a reliable mouthpiece spreading an alternate reality. This administration is essentially judgement day for their 40-year plan.

Exactly. The genius of Roger Ailes was the recognition that if he just had a network that lied to people the way they wanted to be lied to they would turn to it (and its advtersiers) over the truth.
He realized that truth, to the rightwing reptile mind, is secondary to reinforcement of prejudices.
LOL this congressman doesnt quite understand that New York is a "one-party-consent" law for recording conversations.
Between that and their 25 year mudslinging campaign against Hillary, you have to give them credit for investing in the long con.

They're fundraising. It just blows my mind that I know things that these guys do not. What the **** do they do all day?

Generally speaking Members are not very smart. When they say or quote smart things it's because a smart staffer brought it to their attention and then carefully trained them to vomit it back up.
But that only works for the first couple sentences. Once you scratch the surface they have very little below it. Some of them know things because of their prior careers (maybe law, or perhaps they sold used cars or some such). But again, these are not smart people -- kinda by definition if they are able to resonate with the average person they cannot be very smart because that would scare them off.
