I have to repost this to admit that it was probably a mistake. It's true that this is all just entertainment, but Handy is right to scold us about engaging with posters like Dynasty. Guys like him/Fred, Dubber, Mariucci can do nothing but kill every thread they join because all they want is attention, and the easiest way to get it is by irritating as any people as possible. So even if it is all just entertainment, we have to ignore them to keep the threads from going straight to the trash heap.

Donnie spent 15 mins on phone with George and Laura this week and was assured there would be no anti trump sentiments expressed if he were to attend.

I guess anyone talking about service, sacrifice or decency is anti trump though.

No, this was a cruise missile with two missions: eulogize the 41st president and strike at the horrors of this administration. There is zero doubt in my mind. Those words were chosen very carefully by a man who is a surgeon with words.

Just watched it. He didn't go after Trump. He eulogized Bush Sr. It's not his fault that Trump is his exact opposite when it comes to, well, everything.

He didnt really invoke "father-son" privilege he invoked "Atoorney-Client" because a lawyer was present.

California Rep. Adam Schiff said that Trump Jr. said he couldn’t speak about the conversations with his father this summer because of attorney-client privilege, telling the committee a lawyer was present when he spoke to his father about the June 2016 meeting and the emails that led up to it.

Schiff said that wasn’t a valid excuse not to talk, saying “the presence of counsel does not mean communications between father and son are privileged.”

Listen to it again. Meacham isn't going to come out and say, "Trump is a dolt". It's all in the subtext.

I listened to it close enough. I refuse to give Trump any Oxygen by thinking that the eulogy would have been any different if Trump had never existed. Trump does not deserve the Oxygen he gets from this stuff.
