Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

Just because I don't take your or Scooby's side on everything doesn't mean I don't take a side. Realize that, and you'll be a smarter person.

I appreciate your civil discussion based manner and hope to present that front myself as much as possible. That's your good side. You also offers an alternative side. Another good point.

Your downside is that you have a tendency to create a moral equivalency when one doesn't exist. The 'both sides do it' is a smoke screen. If you yell at someone for crossing your property and they burn your house down - I get this feeling you would say 'well, both sides are guilty here'.

You'd be better served by bringing some facts - rather than saying 'its the same and I'm sorry, but that's my opinion'.

In the case of the tax loopholes, it's not R or D. It's rich and not rich.

There are two sides here, some are looking at it from the wrong angle. I think the tax loopholes should be closed. No more shell companies in the Caymans, etc. That sort of thing. However, as long as there are rich people pushing politicians to keep, create, or not change these loopholes, they will exist, and everyone who has the means to take advantage of these loopholes will continue to do so.

Brent is the only person I know who values being devoid of an opinion over being right and doing what’s right. I’ve never seen anything like it.

But that just proves how he is a centrist, and doesn't support either party.

It’s fine to be a centrist, whatever that means today. But being a centrist doesn’t give a person the moral high ground by default.

It’s fine to hold views on various topics that might be held by opposing sides. It’s not fine to use it to attack partisan views.

Defend your views, not some ridiculous imprsssion or Switzerland. You don’t need to qualify every dam thing you say with a “But the other side does it too”

Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

I do think Brent has an opinion...and its not as obvious as some, but its there.

But I also believe that in positioning his opinion...that its less important to be particularly clear and prove his point...than it is for him to appear impartial and therefore appear to be someone worthy of listening to.

Its a very typical Minnesota passive aggressive way of doing things and Brent takes it further than most. That not a criticism of the approach - any disagreement comes from the outcomes.

Just so I’m clear- Dump and republicans give the benefit of the doubt to Russia and Saudi Arabia . But climate change science? Nope, that’s junk

That could be. It’s also a potential shield for not having to defend indefensible positions.

What I don't like is sweeping generalizations or characterizations of only one party, but not the other. In this case, it's the tax loopholes. As I have said, it's not R or D. It's a different angle one must look at.

**** that noise. Bill Gates wants higher taxes. Warren Buffet wants higher taxes. Here are a group of NY Ds who are asking to be taxed more. Here are some more asking for higher taxes. I could keep going.
Now back up this both sides BS with some R's doing the same.

They can voluntarily pay more taxes, write checks to the government, you know. Just sayin'.

Oh fark that bullshiat argument and stop. Right now. That's not how taxes work, and you should know better. The fact that you're using a flaggy argument, literally, is beneath you.

NL managers could also voluntarily play without a DH in interleague games. Just because they're on the right side doesn't mean they have to handicap themselves.

Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

So, you got nothing?

Wrong. Those people who want to be taxed more, then tell them to send in more money. What's the issue here? They are not paying any more than they have to, period.

I admire their charitable donations (Gates/Buffett), that is truly awesome. However, when it comes to taxes? No better than any other rich person. Period.

They still take advantage of every loophole. End. Of. Story. They could ignore those loopholes. They don't.

You're not playing the centrist on this one, Brent. You're just flat out being disingenuous.

I'm being very genuine. A vast majority of people take advantage of every tax break they can take. It doesn't matter party. The rich set the rules, like it or not. That's my point. It's not R/D/I. It's rich vs non-rich. That's the issue I have in this whole thing. Don't blame a party for the rules. Blame the rich for not making it happen.
