POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

A) Infrastructure should be paid for using bonds. Long-term projects with long-term benefits should be paid over long-term periods of time, amortized, in a word.
B) Excess tax money collected should either be placed into an emergency funds account (natural disaster recovery, championship team rioting celebration recovery, etc.), or spent on one-time budgetary needs examples of which escape me at the moment, or a single tax rebate but not a reduction in rates lest they become a regular occurrence.

That makes too much sense. Remember a tax is theft. Well until you need something then when it isn't funded right it is the governments fault.

I think people should be able to opt out of taxes...but then they opt out of benefits too. No plowing, rebates, no street cleaning, no federal or state relief...nothing. You don't want to pay fine, you can go it alone then. These people are such frauds.

Chicago is hardly the first thing that comes to mind when I think of middle America and IDK if I would consider AK and GA middle America either (that's basically "the south"). Though maybe I'm conflating the midwest with middle America.

Yeah GA is hardly Middle America.

Iowa is tripling down. So are the Dakotas. Can't wait till the oil money dries up.

We'll see in a month of Iowa triples down. The Dems are going to get at least one more Congressional seat (north east corner), maybe 2 (south west is a toss up, depends on turnout in Des Moines). Governor's race is close but lean D, and most accounts are the Dems have a shot at the state house, though the Senate is probably off the table.

Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

Fact: They've created surpluses.
Fact: CA (#1) and MN (#3) high state income tax states. https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/fun-facts/states-with-the-highest-and-lowest-taxes/L6HPAVqSF

I think you may be on to something here. I've also noticed I'm able to pay the bills better with a higher salary. You and I should pool our thoughts and write some basic tomes on airthmetic.

If they're rolling a surplus with a goal of paying down debt, fine, but is it really a surplus then? (If it's intended it's not surplus.)
If they're rolling a surplus with a goal of fixing other problems (infrastructure), fine, but again is it ...

Huh?

Is this...is this an actual thought? More money comes than goes out for a year, it's a surplus. That's what a surplus means. A surplus doesn't mean everything that will ever need to be covered is magically covered. Literally no one trying to have a sincere conversation thinks that.

Anyways, BRB. Gotta go down to Cupertino and tell Tim Cook that because Apple - a) has some debt and b) might need to buy something for the company at some point between now and the eventual heat death of the universe - that they don't make a profit.

The country is already lost. Look who won. I warned everyone here that he was playing Presidential Apprentice and he was winning that game show. I was mocked, laughed at, and ridiculed. Now the genie is out of the bottle and that genie is never going back in.

You were mocked, laughed at, and ridiculed for other reasons, Scooby.

https://nypost.com/2017/09/28/depar...-account-information-of-anti-trump-activists/

The Trump administration reportedly has obtained search warrants that would allow them access to the Facebook pages of thousands of anti-Trump protesters.

The requested data — which targets all the information in three accounts — would include information on about 6,000 individuals who “liked” an anti-Donald Trump Facebook page, according to CNN.

The ACLU is fighting the warrant, claiming it seeks information that is not relevant to the federal probe.

Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

Again, is that really "surplus". That's funding the rainy day account and should be in the budget (like ND did during $100 oil).

Remind me again what the definition of "surplus" is?

Not the Sicatoka dumb as a hammer definition.

Re: POTUS 45.41: We Need More Tax Cuts to pay for the Tax Cut

The only Presidential elections the Ds have won since 1964 have been with candidates from Middle USA (Carter/Clinton/Obama). The lose when they nominate a NE liberal.

Georgia's Middle USA? Who knew?

Now if you meant to say "redneck country", then you'd be correct. But then, Obama, Chicago.

Tax revenues exceeding budget, that's surplus. It happens, but it's also a signal that tax rates might be too high.

But putting money into the rainy day fund should be in the budget. You shouldn't only do that when you have excess revenues to budget.

If revenues don't meet the budget, well, that's why the rainy day fund.

Personally, I like the electric cooperatives model: Excess revenues (in that realm called "margins") ultimately belong to and go back to the member-owners of the cooperative. Excess revenues are a signal that rates may be too high.

And is all the ad hominem really necessary.

**** that. Those rubes would flock to Minnesota and screw everything up that’s good about Minnesota.
