I don't see how that's pardon-proof. He'd still have a fine life if Trump pardons him and he gets out of jail.
Edit: Ok, I see. The key testimony was already delivered to the GJ. So it's already out there. Pardoning would just get him out of jail with no benefit. Am I understanding this correctly?

It was a great line. That being said Tucker Carlson's line of questioning defies logic. It's amazing what Fox gets away with and how good at it they are. It's the same reason Alex Jones is a millionaire. Dumb people are easily manipulated.

It's not so much dumb as it is vulnerable to fear, which a large number of conservatives have proven themselves to be. Fear that muslims will kill them, that gays will destroy the institution of marriage and the family unit, that the poor will take their wages and toys, that atheists will take away the comfort of their long-held beliefs, and that the well educated will take advantage of them. Fear of change. The politics of The Boogeyman.
