POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

It's called negotiations. ...

Again, explain why it's bad before condemning it.

And negotiations always work. I guess it's change who's negotiating for you.

As far as marine engines, most are diesel and although I didn't know new marine regs are on the horizon, I do know more than I ever wanted to about Tier 4 requirements for diesels and it's not a long logical leap.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Protocol was followed. She recused herself. It backfired on the people trying to get favor. None of these three things have happened with the Russia mess and the Trump administration.

Protocol would be to not meet. Don't even give the appearance of impropriety. (Trump's people would do well to be taking note.)

Flynn's gone.
That's nothing?

PS - Flynn's tweet yesterday is a joke. "Scapegoat"? No, "victim of self-inflicted wound". No pity for those.

You think it's something? They tried to cover it up. Nothing was covered up by the previous AG. Flynn being gone has nothing to do with what he did. It has to do with lying. Where was the AG's lie in the Clinton thing? Nowhere. Everything was exposed. Yet here you are still in a tizzy over it.

And we still don't know what happened with Russia.

Yes, don't give the appearance of impropriety but when you do admit it, take care of it, and move on. Humans make mistakes. Humans that make mistakes and cover it up shouldn't be in government in the first place.

Maybe someone "told" him to do everything he did. In that scenario he would be the scapegoat. If I were the administration I would be very nervous about a tweet like that.

I do. No credit to the Trumpies, they were forced, but Flynn was a very bad dude and having him gone makes the USG that much better.

Obviously it's nothing compared to SCROTUS still haunting the West Wing in his bathrobe, but the more he fails when he tries to ram through these meatballs the angrier the little baby will get.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

What is the world coming to when you can't even trust lapdogs anymore? :p

JOE: Kellyanne Conway is a free agent. And they have complained. Everybody in the White House but Donald Trump has complained for months that she is a free agent. She goes out, she says whatever she wants to say.

MIKA: Whatever serves herself.

JOE: She doesn’t coordinate her message. And then she comes back in and they have to clean it up. Now, she will lie, as she does every time the truth comes out.

MIKA: Say she’s being victimized.

JOE: She will say she’s being victimized.

MIKA: Because she’s a woman.

JOE: She will then go in and get a picture with the president and then she’ll get the president to tweet something and her staff – his staff – will have to clean this all up over and over again.

Makes you wonder when they'll put a bullet in her. Thou shalt not embarrass Trump -- only He is allowed to do that.

I don't think it is. He was heavily involved in the "lock her up" stuff at the convention. He said if he did anything like she had done he'd be locked up. I don't see him in chains. As long as this hypocrisy is allowed to flourish, nothing happened.

Yep. He "misled" the VP, but Spicey won't say that he misled SCROTUS. Maybe because SCROTUS already knew?

Dang, Glenn Greenwald may have me softening in my view of leakers, namely the current leakers.

It’s hard to put into words how strange it is to watch the very same people — from both parties, across the ideological spectrum — who called for the heads of Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning, Tom Drake, and so many other Obama-era leakers today heap praise on those who leaked the highly sensitive, classified SIGINT information that brought down Gen. Flynn.

It’s even more surreal to watch Democrats act as though lying to the public is some grave firing offense when President Obama’s top national security official, James Clapper, got caught red-handed not only lying to the public but also to Congress — about a domestic surveillance program that courts ruled was illegal. And despite the fact that lying to Congress is a felony, he kept his job until the very last day of the Obama presidency.

But this is how political power and the addled partisan brain in D.C. functions. Those in power always regard leaks as a heinous crime, while those out of power regard them as a noble act. They seamlessly shift sides as their position in D.C. changes.

Indeed, while Democrats have suddenly re-discovered the virtues of illegal leaking, Trump-supporting Republicans are insisting that the only thing that matters is rooting out the criminal leakers.

TRIGGER WARNING: In the piece Greenwald claims Obama was the harshest on leakers since Tricky Dick.

Judging a female on her appearance is wrong.

So is slut shaming.

Guys, seriously, I was paying attention the last eight years. It's all right here in my notes.

It's like the two sides just swapped scripts across the table. Like Greenwald said:

But this is how political power and the addled partisan brain in D.C. functions. ... They seamlessly shift sides as their position in D.C. changes.

They've got a real problem because Trump is going to lie about this in an absurdly bombastic way, like he always does, and then inevitably it will be proven that he was briefed, and now you've got a president lying about his underling's at best vulnerability to blackmail by a foreign power and at worst treason, which again loops back to Mattressgate. Everybody but the True Believers already realizes Hair Fuhrer is a lying sack, so as his unfavorables rise into the 60s he'll go on TV and lie about "fake polls," which will again loop back to doctors' recommendations that he's mentally unbalanced and unfit for the presidency.

Trump has usually been able to lie, cheat and steal because it was just too much effort to hound the as-swipe to the point where, like any bully, he would roll over. But now he's in the spot where thousands of political adversaries and thousands of journalists have literally nothing better to do than nail him on every lie and every cheeseball maneuver. It's not much of a slip from where he is, national joke, to where he will inevitably be, national pariah.

And at some point the triple beam will slide over to the other side and even Republicans will calculate that it's better to ostracize him than tie themselves to this poop log. It happened to Nixon, who knew how to blame the game. It will happen to King Donald the Inept, who is completely clueless about everything.

To be fair, calling Melania a hooker isn't slut shaming.

Nobody believes she actually slept with Trump. She's being paid to be his arm candy. The flaccid part of him that she's propping up is his... vanity.

Speaking of FLOTUS...when is she kicking off her campaign to stop online bullying? Wasn't that what she said she would do?

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

And BTW, I'm not "judging" anything. There are good-looking people, and ugly people in this world. That's a fact.

And she is not in the former group. Neither is Hillary. Also, fact.

Again. I've read all this and the information came out in the normal course of things. I understand you being upset but Washington is ugly and this is how things come out some times. Everything was aired to the public.

What is occurring now with the Russia thing and the Flynn firing is not the normal course of things. It's chaos. Now maybe that's how Trump prefers to rule but he must suffer the consequences then.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Obama?

Here is a list of executive orders that were signed by Barack Obama:

Executive Order to Control the Internet,
Executive Order Accelerates Mandatory HIV Testing For All Citizens,
Obama Signs Cybersecurity Executive Order,
Obama Executive Order Pushes Us Closer To A North American Union And A One World Economic System,
Obama’s Executive Actions on ‘Gun Violence Reduction,

And Gitmo is still open.

All that is politics, Party, not statesmanship.

I hear he also signed EOs to weaponize Walmarts and mandate chemtrails
